I just see no point in coming up with ways to consider gifted athletes such as Tom Brady and Tim Tebow gay. The reason I don't see it is because there is no reason.
If Tim Tebow doesn't want to have the southern boys calling him "gay," then he probably shouldn't be kissing on his roommate on national television. Whatever scorn he gets after that is pretty inevitable.
if it was a kiss on the lips you might have a point there. Many people consider a kiss on the cheek as a mark of respect and admiration. Get over your southern boy homophobia and live with it.
I don't have any southern-boy homophobia; if I did, it would be pretty annoying to live in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta. I'm just saying that it's not exactly surprising to have heard it incessantly ever since it happened. Our southern-boy brethren are many things, and one of them is predictable as all hell.
i should note "your" was meant to the majority of the population, not you in particular. Either way, making fun of him is tasteless and inconsiderate on a number of levels.
I don't disagree with you. But the man is a starting QB for a school in the redneck belt that extends from central Florida up north to at least the Ohio River. The instant he planted that kiss on his teammate's face on national TV, it became inevitable that we'd hear the "Tebow is gay!" crap from much of the rest of the SEC for the rest of his career. That's just the way it works down here.
I'm by no means a fan of Brady, but if anyone calls him gay, then they're just crazy. If the ladies he's pulling are just beards, then maybe I've been playing on the wrong team all along.

Gay jokes are never simply gay jokes if you've ever had a friend who was gay and having trouble dealing with it.
