Got to give Lavin credit. He's getting St. John's on the board with the kind of guys they need to compete in the Big East.

Why would he have a visit a midnight with any recruit?

Today is the first day of in-home visits for coaches so midnight was the first minute in-homes are allowed. Guess Pastner didn't care about him being rested for school in the morning...

I'd love to see them make a comeback and eclipse Syracuse in New York.
I don't see that happening as long as Boeheim is on the sideline. A more attainable goal for Lavin should be getting them back in the NCAAs consistently.

It seems a stupid move to me. If he is impressed by a coach visiting him at mid-night, Memphis is probably the place for him. History would indicate that his education is the least thing Memphis basketball would be concerned about.

“JaKarr and his mother say that people are human and subject to mess up from time to time,” said Don Anderson, Sampson’s AAU coach.

“Coach [Bruce] Pearl and his staff are good people.”

He added: “To us, Coach Pearl is is a good guy regardless of what happened and Tennessee is still in good shape. It has no bearing on his decision.”

I would like to say we could still change his mind, but with no off campus visits I would bet its over.
