Did that because our offensive concept sucked and I hope we don’t go back to that. While our O-Line transforms, I think it’s should do so in the offense we’re going to be running when it finishes. Hurts functioned great within the Bama framework. He didn’t enhance it. That’s why Tua will start...he does.Would he not be able to play the bailout roll that Dobbs played, while our lines transform into top of the SEC levels. Dobbs covered up a lot of deficiencies with his legs. It seems to me that Hurts could do the same.

I'd say if the 26-2 record, Alabama had more to do with 26 wins than hurts, and hurts had more to do with the 2 loses than Alabama did.
And if not for tua, they'd be 25-3. Lol
And? The only qb in your list that even compares to hurts is Martin, and Martin didn't get #'s like hurts has.
And he's still gonna get benched cause he's not good enough.
so you're saying hurts is in the same category, as a quarterback, as peyton manning and casey clausen? And? Point was several were saying Hurts was only Hurts cause he benefited from the feeder team around him. My point is, our top QB's had that same benefit. Without our feeder teams at the time, they wouldn't have been as good either. It is a team sport. we've proven what happens with some QB's that should have been super sized and put them on a squad of anorexics.
but none of that is what happened. the coaches benched him in favor of a freshman in the biggest game of the year.Probably, but not a lock. But, probably. Hurts could have made the adjustments at halftime to kick start the offense and go lights out in the 2nd half. The defense, after all, gave up 13 before half and had to make their adjustment to stop GA just enough to get what they needed from Tua. I bet if it was 3-0 or 0-0 at half, Hurts would have had more to do in 2nd half than watch.
it's a bit different to say it a month after the game, than to maybe have said it before it, and then have it play out like it did. But, he did say it. Same Same. Doesn't matter when. Kinda puts him in same boat.

there's nothing to lose at that point. say it before the game, and you don't get put in, then you better start packing your bags. no risk whatsoever in making that statement afterwards. none.
Nope. Not at all. Not even a comparison can be made. I'm saying, as others have said about Hurts, that they all benefitted greatly by having NFL feeder teams around them at the time they played on their respective rosters. You put PM in the UT roster of the last few years, and he's not as prolific a QB as he was with the rosters he played with. Same for CC. And he didn't even make the NFL. But he was great at UT because of the supporting cast that was still heavily feeding the NFL at the time.so you're saying hurts is in the same category, as a quarterback, as peyton manning and casey clausen?
don't disagree with any of that. but you're presenting it as a comparison of what the QB would be w/ or w/out the teams around him. and while true, what the QB's are asked to do with that talent around them is solely dependent upon what that QB is capable of doing himself.Nope. If you put Tua in our lineup last year, would he have been the same Tua we saw in the NC. Doubt it.

and hurts was not asked to do the same things that Manning and Clausen were asked to do. which is why i equated the more accurate comparison is with Tee Martin on the 98 team. that team won a title with a very average quarter back. so did Bama with Hurts. both great athletes. both asked to do similar things as QB's. neither can/could do what a manning or clausen could do from the pocket.
I don't really get all the Adams hate. The guy is pretty cynical (like Tennessee fans can be) and can be highly critical of the team's play at times, especially when there is bad coaching.
Guess what...there's been a lot of bad play and bad coaching at Tennessee over the last decade.
