Jalen Tabor suspended..................for the first game

What punishment would you propose for two players getting into a fight?

I'm not sure I would expect any kind of suspension. Depending on the details, I might choose to have 'em run the stadium steps until they puke. But I don't know the circumstances in this particular case any more than I did all those instances when Spurrier did the same thing back in the day.

I suspect that this is a time-tested method the Ol' Ball Sack has passed-on to McElwain for dealing with players who might have a hard time getting the message any other way. The first game opponent is a joke. It helps ensure a key player will be healthy and champing at the bit for the first legit opponent. And it may help keep them in line for the rest of the season. I really don't approve or disapprove. I'm just saying this is a very Spurrier move.

lulz What are they teaching the Gators? Former Gator Dante Fowler got thrown out of Jaguars practice for fisticuffs.

Word is Tabor swung his helmet at Cyontai Lewis after some trash talk, followed by Lewis beating the crap out of Tabor.

I always thought "Cyontai" sounded like some prescription anti-depressant.

Perhaps next time Tabor should consult his physician before taking Cyontai...side effects include getting your ass whipped.

I bout spit my food out laughing.

I'm sure it was that mouth that got that butt whipped for him. That's usually how it plays out with the talkers.

and with the fight happening twice I have a hard time believing Tabor was just minding his own business trying to avoid any confrontation after the first go.

Speaking on rigorous process, per Matt Baker, gator beat tweeted this:

McElwain addressing suspensions of Tabor and Lewis, says they should be back next Thursday. Also says they're good people. #Gators

...yeah...

Mcelwain is starting to have a situation on his hands, regardless if the homer writers in Gainesville want to talk about how much everybody loves Tabor in their program.

This doofus is going to undermine his authority and divide the team if he isn't careful.

Not sure when it happened, but saw some Tweets on my timeline with Tabor's Twitter handle deactivated. Looks like he deleted his account.

He did delete it. I'm sure at the direction of McElwain. Even Florida fans are starting to realize what a stain he is.

If I understand the tweet, Tabor dissing Lewis for testifying against a thug friend of Tabor's and sending him "up the river".

Breaking it down, Tabor is not mad at his friend for screwing up, He's mad at Lewis for the testimony. To me, that says a lot about Tabor's ethics, morals and judgement.

Yes, McElwain has a problem. Seems like McElwain is new enough to understand that he needs to win to keep his job. Whatever it takes.

That's ironic, considering UT found itself in a similar situation last season with a player being criticized for snitching on a teammate...from the top down no less.

What is ironic? I didn't mention anything about UT at all. You are pulling UT into this? This is all about Tabor and McElwain's handling of it.

It's ironic you're questioning Tabor's ethics and judgment when your own head coach was criticized for calling one of his own players a "traitor" for outing a teammate accused of sexual assault.

Short memories on Rocky Top...
Tennessee sexual assault lawsuit: Butch Jones called player traitor | SI.com

Which he denied, you may have missed this part.

“The assertion that I ever attempted to belittle or demean a young man for taking action to help another person is absolutely false. To the contrary, I did all I could to assist the former student in question. During the course of the judicial process, campus officials, as well as the young man's own words, will clearly establish that I have done nothing wrong. I will fight all of these false attacks on my character, and I know that once this process has been completed, my reputation will be affirmed.” – Butch Jones

Not much denying that Tabor is calling out another current player. The players in question in that article are also no longer on the team and have no bearing on the 2016 season. I think the point is Tabor has the potential to be a team dividing cancer. As far as ethics and judgment, I think one can assume Tabor is lacking in the area. Even a gator fan should be able to admit that without deflecting, at least the judgement part.

And I missed where I condoned any of Tabor's actions...did the opposite in fact.

"Teez" needs to keep his mouth shut and play...second time I've said as much.

Nothing I said had anything to do with UT. Nor does it reflect my opinion on anything that might have happened on Rocky Top. Spin it however you want. I think McElwain has a couple of primadonnas on his hands, and as someone said, it could cause discord in the locker room. That's all I'm saying.

Nothing I posted was ironic. The definition of irony is:
: the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really think especially in order to be funny
: a situation that is strange or funny because things happen in a way that seems to be the opposite of what you expected
