Jalin Hyatt #73 to Giants, Tilman #74 to Browns

Jalin Hyatt looks like he could be wearing No. 84 with the New York Giants.

I guess my post got consolidated.

Seriously, I like Jalin and what he did for the team, but this sitting out; quitting, is not a good look for our youth.

It isn't quitting. When you have the opportunity to risk millions of dollars and your lifelong dream and you take that risk, maybe then you can talk. Hyatt gets injured seriously injured and he doesn't even go 3rd round. Not to mention, serious injuries can linger which affects his ability to perform once he gets into the league and leads to lower contracts (or none).

Shame on anyone who criticizes a young man for making a good business decision when they've never been out into the same situation.

All you that are saying it was smart for Hyatt to sit out because “what if he got injured “ is just a stupid take. If thats an issue, why even play the regular season? Why even play at all? Just claim yourself as a football player, & use the university of your choice to pay for your tuition just so you can spend the next 3-4 yrs using their facilities & equipment to prepare yourself for the NFL. No need to even step on a field until that university’s pro day.

Talk about stupid takes. You have to prove yourself to an extent. 1 final meaningless exhibition game isn't going to magically turn him into a 1st round pick.

Go risk millions of dollars playing a game and then maybe your opinion will matter. Until then, your opinion is irrelevant.

Well it is a good thing that Jalin abandoned his team for the Orange Bowl. Otherwise, he may have been the 74th pick in the NFL draft instead of 73rd; which was the 10th wide receiver. Wow, VFL be damned,.... I am all about "show me the money" ..... What!?!?

Of course we didn't need him.
Hyatt and every other Tennessee player you have ever badmouthed including guys like Tyler Bray, Guarantano, etc have done way more for the University of Tennessee than you ever have. You have no right to be this douchey about a guy who brought us our first win against Bama in 15 years choosing his health over a meaningless bowl game that Tennessee won handily without him. Don't be a bad fan. I hope you're better than that

I hate it, but that has been normalized. I loved how Darnell Wright decided to play and became a top 10 pick.

Still yet, NFL teams don’t care about whether a player sits a bowl game or not, look at Anthony Richardson.

Heck, NFL didn't even care Richardson's college career was based on very little performance. Don't get how even even cracked the top 3 rounds, much less #4.

Agree!

Anyone who call the bowl games meaningless can't be true college football fans. Sounds like they're bigger NFL fans than anything. Football is a team sport not individual.

It's become an accepted totally illogical and false narrative that a bowl game is somehow meaningless unless it's in the Playoff. Can you imagine this idea if applied to almost every game in the history of TN football. "Meaningless" would apply to @ 99.8% of games in the 20th & 21st centuries.
