Nothing to do with last nights game.

He’s a small receiver with great straight line speed. The problems are he doesn’t make guys miss, he doesn’t have the wiggle side to side and he doesn’t break tackles. I remember one touchdown where he got away from a few guys but it was more of him getting lost in the group than breaking tackles.

Almost all of his touchdowns are from running wide open. I’ve seen plenty of what they call system QBs but it seems he’s a system receiver.

I’m not saying he won’t make it in the NFL but I really believe he needs to stay another year and get stronger. I think he gets man handled by bigger stronger NFL DBs . Last night just showed it a little more.

I agree about the strength. I said going in that uga had the talent and athleticism to play press/man against us and they did. Every db in the NFL can play that way. Having more strength and quicks would certainly be something he'd work and likely improve on with another year. It's why I think the NFL will like Tillman's upside a lot more than Hyatts. Having said that, I think Squirrel might be the type of slot guy that really fits Heupel's system well. Not sure he'll put up the dream season that Hyatt's having, but I think his skill set might be better suited to the slot than Hyatt's. He's got the quicks to beat press coverage.

He will probably go to the NFL anyway

He had the same amount of catches and yards as Tillman did yesterday...

He shouldn't be counted on to block, like they tried to have him do on that one play the RB landed on him. He does need some strength, but his stock will probably never be higher and a team that can utilize his skill set would still draft him.

He could probably make a roster. But he won't last in the leauge too long. Just doesn't have the size or the frame to grow in to it.

Lol seriously ? Dude has caught 51 passes for 970 yards. 14 tds and hasnt had a drop this season. Sure he needs to add more strength. You guys think Marvin Harrison Jr doesnt ? They all do and thats the biggest transition to the NFL for any and all players. If you really wanna microscope Hooker did not play well. You simply can not hold the ball all day against UGA. The whole team is accountable for the loss. We had a test and we failed. Study and don't make the same mistakes next time. I have a feeling we see UGA again and I expect our guys will adjust and put in the work

He had 6 catches for 68 yards against the best defense in college football that is loaded with future NFL talent. And could've easily had more if Hooker had been been more on-target yesterday. Not sure how you take away 'he's not an NFL receiver' based on that.

This is not the time to start criticizing any players, this team has delivered more than any of us would have guessed. Embrace this year, because next year might not be as good, these seasons should not be taken for granted. This is a team, not an individual. UGA played better than UT, HH had a bad day, it was going to happen.

Go Vols!

I believe he could use another year of college. I don’t think he is physically ready for the NFL. I don’t want to call him soft, but he tends to get banged up pretty easily. I also don’t see him going over the middle much. Most his catches are on the outside usually go routes. He needs to get more physical for the NFL. Regardless of what he decides to do I’ll be rooting for him!

What a chicken little statement! Do you think that "NFL" receivers have huge numbers in every single game? DeVonta Smith during his Heisman campaign has a couple "no show" games exactly like JH has last night. Against Arkansas he had 3 catches for 22 yards. To be an "NFL" WR you have to be special at something toughness, size, speed, body control, catch radius. JH is putting up crazy numbers, and will be the fastest WR(maybe player) in the draft! Just wait until he lights up the scoreboard with a 4.2!

Hyatt is a better slot receiver than outside for the NFL. He won't be expected to be what he's been for us lately, a byproduct of errant db play. His speed and the offense poses problems together, without it in the NFL he won't produce the same. Hype is what shows are driven by so accurately critiquing him with reality doesn't sell and only brings out the Kool aid glasses to "defend" him. I think he'll do well in the NFL once he physically matures and learns his new role.
