Jamal Khashoggi

Life doesn't always give you a yes or no choice. Sometimes you just have to make a right or wrong pick and hope you were right. When you're older you'll understand what I mean.

This isn't one of those cases. Why on earth do we need to pick SA or Iran?

People who say crap like this are just like Trump - they never provide any specific examples of what in the hell they are talking about. I don't believe that the United States of America has committed just as many human rights violations as any other country... Considering the power this country has, we have not abused it as much as others with power have abused theirs. I'm curious to see some examples of what you're talking about though.... So, name some....

I 100% agree. I never considered forcing Indians onto reservations and slaughtering them if they didn't go a human rights violation. The Japs deserved to be interned during the war and hell those syphilis tests were for science!

At least former presidents pretended to have morals. Trump doesn't even go through the motions.
Trump has no moral foundation. He isn't guided by a value system or principles... He is guided by his personal instincts for what is in his own best interest with each decision.

You tell me? Maybe we should just choose Israel and say FU to the rest of the middle east. What is your solution to the ongoing cluster in the middle east?

I could make a smart ass remark about reading comprehension here... but I will instead again ask for a list which qualifies the United States of America as having committed as many crimes as any other country in the world... such a list would include 1) Hitler's Germany and 2) Stalin's Soviet reign as well as 3) Mao Zedong's China 4) Pol Pot's Cambodia 5) Saddam Hussein's Iraq and 6) Nikolai Czauczescu's Romania.

You have named a couple... you have a long ass way to go to arrive at a list coming close to the atrocities committed by the 6 I mentioned... and that just covers the 20th century. No, our country is not as bad as anyone's. Funny that a flag waving Republican would argue this just as a means of defending Trump.

Those goal posts get heavy moving them all the time?

What are you talking about? The "goal posts" were where NurseGoodVol put them with her post claiming that the United States had "committed just as many crimes as any other country" which I had quoted and put in bold.

Remember Daniel Pearl? Imagine if W had come out after he was murdered and said, "It is what it is."

America has done the same to other countries, committed just as many crimes as any other country. For anyone to say America has the moral high ground is a disingenuous view. Get real septic. Our hands hold blood too and even our own.
That sounds like the Obama apology tour. I thought you hated that.

Your naivete on who controls output amuses me. Trump was terrified that holding crown prince accountable would cause gas prices to skyrocket.

Wake up kid, if you want to sit at the adult table, stop embarrassing yourself.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday linked his decision to continue backing Saudi Arabia — despite the murder of a U.S. resident by Saudi agents — to his desire to keep oil prices low.

"Saudi Arabia, if we broke with them, I think your oil prices would go through the roof," Trump told reporters on Tuesday. "I've kept them down. They've helped me keep them down."

Does anyone think the Saudis contribution of oil to the US is that significant?

gr-oilprod-300.gif

Trump thinks its significant enough not to call his royal highness out. So which is it?

Well... except Daniel Pearl was a dual citizen Israeli/ US and all. But sure carry on the dumbassery of attaching those protections to non citizens.

I'm confused on what you red hat nationalists believe is at the root of the American exceptionalism you want to make great....again. Apparently, it's not the moral high ground. You people need to get your stories straight.

Wow.

This is the weirdest conversation I've read in quite some time. The conservatives are on an apology tour. The liberals are apparently arguing that more than a century of slavery, women's/racial/etc civil right violations, etc is a moral high ground.

And no one has realized that septic has you both arguing, based from an equivocation between a boorish president and Holocaust atrocities.

Party allegiances make people so blind and irrational.

I saw the same thing from conservatives when Trump drew a moral equivalency between the United States and Russia during his infamous interview with Bill O'Reilly in 2017. "Are we so innocent?" and "We kill people too." They will run America down - if Trump is doing the same. They just echo his sentiments...
