Jameis pushed the referee

Winston was in the wrong and could have been flagged, but imo it pales in comparison to everything else we know about his character.

Is it just me or was he pushing the ref because the ref wasn't doing his job and was just in the way? In order to allow for subs, he's supposed to stand over the ball. He wasn't, he was standing between the center (who's in his stance) and the QB. If the ref was doing his job, this never happens.

IMO the conversation went "GET OUT OF THE WAY GET OUT OF THE WAY I WANNA QUICK SNAP THEM" and the ref said "I need to let them sub because y'all subbed" and James looks back at him and goes "k, sorry"

The ref was doing his job. The ACC is one of the conferences experimenting with an 8th on-field official this season: a center judge behind the play at the snap. They also determined that he'd be the guy to hold up the snap in case of a substitution, and he'd do so by standing behind the center.

They may want to rethink who holds up the snap, and how, going forward. But the guy was doing his job as it was assigned, and Winston had absolutely no business shoving a guy wearing stripes.
