James Conner will be the best pure RB from the 2017 NFL Draft

Jury is out on Gordon. His first year was bad, but this year he was impressive. 1400 total yards and 12 TDs in 13 games ain't bad, especially considering they have line problems. 3.9 ypc is 12th of 20 guys who got 200+ carries, so not terrible.

The jury may be out on production or something, but I don't think the jury is out as to whether he is a good player. He is.

I mean, it's semantics, but if he fails out of the league in the next two seasons, nobody is going to look back and think he was ever a good player. Trent Richardson had 1300 and 12 TDs once, for a far worse team.

The hell it is, considering your original arugment was he was some kind of surprise pick. He was always considered a first rounder even before the Senior Bowl.

You keep moving the goalposts after you've proven wrong.

It was a surprise pick that he was picked that HIGH. I'm talking more about the fact he went #4 overall.

Rivers rise that year up the draft boards would be like Pat Mahomes going in the top 5 this year ahead of Deshaun Watson or Mitch Trubisky. That would be a surprise even if we have been hearing his name as a potential first rounder for the last couple of months.

Obviously as we got close to draft day that year you heard rumblings that San Diego loved him. But before the senior bowl him going 4th overall would have been a shock. He was much lower on the pecking order.

That is what I meant by surprise pick.

I would answer that in a two part answer. Yes, he was a bust for the saints as he didn't perform to expectations that massive amount of money carried. After he left NO, he had a few good years.

To be fair RB's are set up for failure in NO.... they haven't invested in the run game enough to justify having any kind of production there...

I didn't move any goalposts. It was a long time ago so I didn't get the specifics exactly right. But the essense of what I said was true. Rivers stock "SKYROCKETED" up the draft boards after the senior bowl. And in particular his stock was highest with the Chargers who were willing to take him in the top 5. No other team was going to take him that high.

He was a SURPRISE. Just like Pat Mahomes would be a surprise this year if he went in the top 5 even though his name has been out there for a while as a first round pick.

Very true. If he replicated his first season for around 5 years, that's a success.

I seriously don't understand how someone has time to be a full time troll. As a 21 year old, I feel like I should, but I'm completely lost. Have to have 0 friends. No other way.

And now you're even denying you moved the goalposts after everyone can clearly see you did.
