The AP poll has long been a farce. I wouldn't worry about this week's ranking at all. There are several "ranked" teams whose entire schedule are money games for higher tier schools and should never be considered as quality wins when deliberating upon a ranking. It doesn't matter if you go undefeated in your conference if your conference gets destroyed in non-conference games.

We beat Austin Peay we drop we drop 2 spots.
We beat UTSA we drop 1 spot.
We beat Vandy we drop 1 spot and out of the AP poll.

Other teams move up with a bye - we drop when we win. DocVol you are spot on.

That and they are notoriously biased.

For example, Kirby Smart is likely to put us in top 20 because Georgia beat us soundly and that makes Georgia look good while Texas coach is definitely going to leave us unranked to make Alabama/Georgia look worse and rank Big12 teams.

After watching them play on Saturday I think there is a strong possibility that they lose the conference title game.

The rankings are compiled by polling 62 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation. Each voter provides their own ranking of the top 25 teams, and the individual rankings are then combined to produce the national ranking by giving a team 25 points for a first place vote, 24 for a second place vote, and so on down to 1 point for a twenty-fifth place vote. Ballots of the voting members in the AP poll are publicized.

I would rather lose to TCU, Oklahoma, Memphis, and yes even Rice over Florida and twice on Sunday. I hate those dicks more than anything.
