Just like the coaches’ assistants that fill out the Coaches’ Poll ballots each week. You give the AP voters too much credit. You think Joe Shmo from the Albuquerque Daily Bugle has watched every Toledo game this year and analyzed their performance? The local beat writers getting AP and Heisman ballots is an anachronism that produces results you can’t take seriously. They glance at records and hear sound bites, fill out their ballots and move on
#25, #24 and #23
Meanwhile Tennessee wins and falls out of the AP completely
Tell me again how there’s no bias.
Why? Coaches have zero time to watch games outside of teams they play. Meanwhile the AP watches lots of games.
After watching them play on Saturday I think there is a strong possibility that they lose the conference title game.Florida state will be ranked in the top four when the rankings are released on Tuesday. Do you honestly believe that the committee thinks that they are truly one of the top four teams without Jordan Travis? Or are they’re ranking them there because of the season that they have had thus far.
That and they are notoriously biased.
For example, Kirby Smart is likely to put us in top 20 because Georgia beat us soundly and that makes Georgia look good while Texas coach is definitely going to leave us unranked to make Alabama/Georgia look worse and rank Big12 teams.
The rankings are compiled by polling 62 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation. Each voter provides their own ranking of the top 25 teams, and the individual rankings are then combined to produce the national ranking by giving a team 25 points for a first place vote, 24 for a second place vote, and so on down to 1 point for a twenty-fifth place vote. Ballots of the voting members in the AP poll are publicized.
I would rather lose to TCU, Oklahoma, Memphis, and yes even Rice over Florida and twice on Sunday. I hate those dicks more than anything.“In their conference” is some keywords. SMU got obliterated by TCU and Oklahoma and scraped by Memphis and Rice…while we’re counting. James Madison lost ugly to a really bad Appy State team. Our claim to shame is losing to Florida.
