17 years here and counting down bro..........you know how it rolls, the public wanted us all camera'ed up and on public display. The old days of "you border line had too much to drink, call a ride" / "I'm going to cut you a break, here's what we're going to do" and the like are gone. Its turned into letter of the law instead of the old spirit of the law. I agree with you, I cant remember the last time I arrested for a basic DWLS. Ticket and court mandated.......but if he acted a fool? You need to go ahead and arrest or you're going to get hammered by defenses in the future who'll use it against you. (And just for clarity, I'm in a blue county in Florida and defense will pull your videos for court and blast you for arresting a person for 1 thing and letting another off for the same. This is a product of the public outcry).

for a traffic citation - why make him do anything? CRG should give him some fatherly advice on how to minimize your discomfort in a traffic stop and move on. The police appeared to provide ample punishment for a traffic citation

Saying yes sir and no sir will cost you nothing but can save you a lot of $$. Always be nice to the man who can put you in jail.

Not a big deal. Good learning experience for him. I’d honestly just give him a good talking to rather than a punishment

i was once clocked doing over 90 in a 35 and my big mouth almost talked myself out of NOT getting a wreckless driving charge
