None of this is new with JG. He has 3 very basic problems as a QB.

1. Cannot read a defense pre-snap.
2. Has trouble reading his progressions.
3. Has difficulty feeling pressure in the pocket.

All of this causes him to pick a receiver before the ball is snapped, stare him down, hold the ball too long, and force it into coverage. He also lacks touch and frequently throws the ball too hard for the type of route he’s trying to hit.

None of this is new...he did it all last year too. The stats favored him, in spite of these shortcomings last year.

It’s too bad...because he truly seems to love Tennessee, and isn’t wholly unlikeable.

Nope....he was a fish out of water in Jones offense. He was made for this....but we’ll never know. He looks like he’s going to do big things with the Chippewa’s this year....today notwithstanding. Wisconsin hammered them.

Let me start by saying that I appreciate that this kids wanted to play for the Vols. However, it is becoming more and more clear that he is not the QB to lead this team out of our troubles. Watching him all last year and the two games this season, it is clear that he has not taken the necessary steps to excel at this level. Last week he was horrible and tonight has not been any better. He has over thrown a couple of players, an intentional grounding, multiple passes where the receiver bailed him out from an interception. He has on at least two occasions gotten the ball to the open receiver late, both if completed on time would have been a TD. It is time to move in from this train wreck.

I have defended this guy as much as anyone, but after seeing this game, no. I hate it. I really do. But... no.

The offense is being limited due to JG decision making and execution when WRs are open.

I have always been a supporter, but with these two performances, he’s a liability.

The TD he threw TD was a terrible decision.
