I hadnt even thought about that but thats a good point. Also side note, I do think Shay resigned over this. I hadnt heard this story until a little bit ago, but someone I trust a lot told me they had heard one of the big boosters pulled all of the coaches loaner cars after the kneeling happened.Wow, forgot about that and that will probably be a bad look for ETSU going forward in regards to recruiting.
If that is the case, you'll probably see his players boycott games next to support his decision.Absolutely disgusting and shameful if he was asked to resign because of supporting his player’s right to kneel. I’m not saying I support the kneeling, I am neutral on that whole subject honestly. But, to have him resign because he supported his players and didn’t cave to pressure is embarrassing and good luck getting young men to commit to your university in the future.

Im not trying to make this a political issue, but I found this.
The NAACP just got this from Laura Shay, Jason Shay’s mother. There needs to be an uprising.
”My son Jason Shay was forced to resign as ETSU’s men’s basketball coach because he took a knee with his player’s in support of them. I know you can’t save his job but I would appreciate it if you would educate the people of Johnson City TN about standing up for one another regardless of race. I’m proud of my son for standing up for his team - his fellow men”
There's a difference in "can" and "should". Can the university pressure a coach to resign for kneeling? Legally, I don't actually know, maybe. Should they? Absolutely not. Its a terrible move ethically and competitivelyIn the end, those players represent the university and actions have consequences.
Maybe im wrong, but if this is all it is (not trying to minimize the situation) and there is no AA smoke as well I can see him landing another spot pretty soon.I don’t know why he would resign unless they agreed to pay his contract in full. I would have dared them to fire me. Go ahead and see how that would work. Astonishing.
Edit: sorry, didn’t read post above before posting.
