Jauan Jennings Commits

And that's great if we are talking about high school ball, we are not lol! You sound like you are reaching beyond reaching! Either way every fact I've stated is just that. Tee didn't start til he was a senior so I'm pretty sure if JJ has the same luxury of learning and developing you will see him more as the signal caller in a few years! Good day!

Tee was a junior in 98.

You can pretend all you want, but the fact of the matter is it absolutely one of the most competitive districts in the nation. I live here; I think I would know.

Producing SEC players and competition are not at all synonymous.

Maryville doesn't produce D1 athletes consistently, but you're going to tell me they aren't a dominant team year in, year out, typically ranked in top 100?

Maryville ain't ****....I met their running back in the middle, Eric berry style back in the day..

WHAAAAT

I'm excited about this kid. I don't know why people are insisting that he won't play QB. Coach Butchy isn't just any coach. I believe he'll let him tryout for the position and we'll see what happens.

Wtf has Dobbs ever done besides lose to everyone, that vandy game was an embarrassment.

Dobbs?

1. Played well in his half vs Bama
2. Played very well vs Mizzou, was the only one who did, while setting the freshman record for completions
3. Played poorly vs Auburn.... but not as poorly as our defense or spec teams
4. Played poorly vs Vandy, although he scored the winning td that was needlessly nullified by Pig's bad block
5. Played very well vs Ky in leading UT to that win

I believe we found the culprit.

You guys know this already, but cant help myself in mentioning......Dooley would have waited/expected this kid and most Tn recruits to come to him.....ie Von Bell

If the run game was so good, why didn't we score more points and have better control of the game? And the fake jump pass play that won the game for them was one of the ugliest, most busted defensive plays ever... Just saying.

The run didn't get us more points because all they had to do was load the box because Dobbs couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

How about we just rejoice in the fact that a highly recruited 4* in-state prospect chose us over Bama and the Barn. Reason ally I do not care what position the kid plays because it's not going to matter. He is an awesome athlete that will contribute on either side of the ball.

This kid looks like a good get. He's an instate prospect to boot. I hope he becomes the next (insert QB here), if not I hope he plays another position like a champ. People get way to uptight on here sometimes. :peace:

Explains everything.

Continue to be ignorant; I have no qualms with that.

What in the world...Bham area football is better than the whole state of Tennessee...a few years back Prattville which is from Montgomery went and smashed Brentwood who was supposedly a powerhouse in the state...Hoover will smash Blackman in October just wait

WELCOME Mr Jennings!

Please ignore the usual VN fighting that's just normal here.

We know you could do well as a QB, WR, S or CB but we just wish you great success at whatever position is best for you and your future.

We're VERY happy to have you as another VFL young man!

Can't wait to see you run through the T.

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

Brentwood sucks bro

Brentwood sucks bro

Pretty sure it was Brentwood Academy. When they weren't exactly at their strongest either.

I get the point that TN high school football isn't on the level of many of the surrounding states, but the last 5-10 years has shown that despite the relatively low competition, TN cranks out some great individual football players. Sure, not on the level of FL, CA, TX, GA, etc, but Dont'a Hightower, Michael Oher, Patrick Willis, Harrison Smith, Randall Cobb, and many other high draft picks have come right out of our back yard.

Additionally the metro area in the middle of the state is growing so quickly that TN is becoming more competitive and putting out a greater number of D1 players than ever.

Sure, our best teams probably won't touch traditional powerhouses of GA, FL, NC, or even AL, but the top 2-3 players we've been producing have been arguably just as good or better than the top 3 of those other states (in the long term at least...some of those guys like Willis weren't highly ranked recruits). Tennessee high school football has shown that it puts out some high level football players.

An overwhelming majority of those kids should be Tennesse locks any given year. Of we'd gotten some of those kids we'd missed out on (for whatever reason) the past 5-7 years probably wouldn't have been so rough.

It's important that Butch gets those kids, and so far he's doing just that (though Jalen Ramsey and Alex Bars come to mind, both of those were nearly impossible pulls). IMO that's a sign of good things to come down the road. Getting them on campus is half the battle.
