i'll t-bash! He should have just said no if he didn't want to move his family. He should have just said," i'm not interested"if he knew his wife wouldn't move. If he knew he didn't want to leave the players he recruited, he could have quietly said he had no interest. Instead, he made this into a spectacle and rejected ut.

Will it help him recruit tn for usc, yes. Will it ensure that he gets a raise, yep. Does he care about the vols more than usc, doubtful.

Absolutely!

Ok idiots, no body is bashing T here. But that shouldn't surprise me that you are ready to pounce on anything said, you obviously read what you want. This post simply says we have Jay Graham and have a lot to be proud of because he accomplished more than T did. We don't have to be down on T for not coming, but can be proud of what we have because he is as good. No not as good but better than T.

The 1998 NC says you're wrong. I love both players, but it's hard to trump a NC.

I understand all the reasons he may want to stay at USC. I'm just saying he could have declined UT in a much less embarrassing way.

Maybe he had genuine interest in the job and came to town to discuss specifics. Maybe he brought the wife in hopes her attitude might change. Or maybe she came because Tee wants her to have a relationship with his kids that live in Knoxville, or she does have a bond with them and took advantage to come and see them. It's very possible Tee met with CBJ and didn't share his offensive philosophy. So many possibilities and everything on here is speculation. Not one of us knows what went on behind closed doors.

Speaking of Jay Graham. Coach Elder posted this on twitter a few hours ago.

Stop it you bitter little child...Grow up and get over it already.

Because your response was so mature and not at all child like...

You could have left it at "get over it" but no, you tack on the childish retort. Just sayin'.

The LA lifestyle is infectious, it's not a place, it is a lifestyle. It's expensive, I lived there for about 15 years until moving recently to Vegas. But to be a noted football staff member at USC and with all the perks that come with it, makes it extremely difficult for a person, more especially to just up and leave without very good reason. Chances are his children are going to attend some of the best middle and secondary schools in this nation, and it is true you can surf in the morning and snowboard the same afternoon. Tee is on a first name basis probably with a lot of the Hollywood crowd as is his wife, lots of people in the entertainment business are around them. I personally still miss every weekend on the Sunset Strip or on La Cienega at various restaurants, surfing Venice Beach. Until you walk a mile in Tee's shoes, some of you need to take chill pill. He didn't do anything wrong to UT, he still has my admiration and total respect for how he conducted himself on and off the field while he was on The Hill.

As many have already commented, the right thing to do would have been to simply decline interest in the job. Done and done. Why fly out here if he was never really interested in moving back to Knoxville?

Stop being butthurt because Tee cares more for his family than UT. I would have loved for him to come home, but family comes before your alma mater. Seriously, how many of you would choose UT over your wife's happiness? WTH do you want from the man? Does he need to divorce his wife and come here and coach at a lesser salary to convince you he's a VFL? He proved that to me in 1998. Stop questioning his character because he made a decision based on his family's needs rather than your own.

What about the two kids he has here in Knoxville.....they don't count as family??

It doesnt matter to me if he took the job or not, yes I would have liked to had that TN connection, but I am sure coach Jones will fill the position w someone that wll get the job done. My point is, if he did take the job here, he would have had his "whole" family in one location....if we are going to say he did what was best for his family. The last I checked your kids are a part of your family.

The main point of this thread is that we have Jay Graham and he really wants to be here. He left SC to come here and we are, as we should be, proud fans to have him.

Is that why he has ignored the best interest of his 2 kids in Knoxville, or maybe It is an all about her relationship and he has to roll with the punches. Sorry Coach Jones momma said we can't leave LA.

I like the maturity of our fanbase. We are the definition of how to handle a situation with class.

Class would have been to make the statement he ultimately made without contacting everyone he knew in Knoxville to try and get an interview for the job with coach Jones. Then parade all over Knoxville makeing sure everyone knew he was there so he could publicly embarass his alma mater. Sorry that is not class that is being Kiffen Jr.

Non-bash post. Has anyone heard how we stand with RB Derrick Green in VA? Been pretty quiet since the firing. I'm hoping with Jay still here, he still has us as high on his list as we were before. We really need this guy!
