Not to be "that guy", but how are we on the recruiting roll that we are? Given our poor performance and seeming ineptitude of this coaching staff, doesn't really add up...

This is the "Pat Summitt" effect. Many young women basketball players have a great admiration for Pat. They want to do something to restore her legacy. The present coaching staff are benefitting from this admiration.

She had a loaded roster last year, too.

The recruiting reinforcement should mean there's no sweating about just making the tournament, but they will not be a Final Four caliber team. We can celebrate making the S16 or maybe the E8.

I agree. It's like some fans are just glad to get to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8. We have had Final Four talent and nothing has happened. That's why I'm not overly excited about what we have coming. My concern is will they be coached correctly and developed. Will they be fundamentally sound and gel as a team.

Do you think Holly coaches them to stand still and not move without the ball??? Some of these girls have been playing basketball almost all their life. Why should they have to "learn" to move without the ball. It should be second nature, with guards especially.....we'll see how Holly does with this group she's getting because she's not going anywhere to be honest....no matter how much people bash her and her coaching deficiencies, no matter how many "Holly pleaseeee retire" threads we make after a loss, she's just not going anywhere, anytime soon.

All I know is whatever Holly is coaching and these are her players she recruited she is not doing a good job. You are making statement that these are not Hollies recruits even though you have not said so much they are her players.

Everyone needs to chill on Holly for another year. Let's see what she can do with a loaded roster. I have faith that she will do it next season.

If Mercedes returns along with Jaime, then next year will be a repeat of Holly's first 3 years. That is, good won-loss record in spite of her lack of coaching skills.

Next years excuse will be something along the lines of "they are only freshmen, we have to give them time to develop and get used to the speed of the college game. We gotta wait a couple of years for Holly to develop them." And then when that doesn't happen it will be back to "these were the most over-rated recruits ever. We need kids who will give effort. You can't blame the coach for that. Wait til Holly gets players who will buy into her system."

These people cannot just admit that CHW is in over her head as a head coach at this level. I wanted her to succeed. She generally seems like a nice person and has obviously been faithful to the Lady Vol program. But, eventually excuses for her have to stop. Maybe next year will be better, but if it's not, then it's time to part ways.

I love how the recruiting is going for the Lady Vol's. I will be at the Notre Dame Monday. The game at Old Mississippi was very disappointing but we will make a comeback. Our biggest problem is speed at the grad position. With Te'a Cooper coming back next year and Evina Westbrook, and Anastasia Hayes next year that will improve a lot. Love how the 2018 year is going with Amira Collins and Jazmine Massengill. I beleave we will get Olivia Nelson-Ododa, Izabella Nicoletti, and Aquira DeCosta, and maybe one or two more. See y'all at the Notre Dame game. Go Lady's vol's

I believe holly has addressed gaurd issues and size .. we need guards and we got them thank god I believe holly gets two or three years her resume is really good so that keeps her safe and she is recruiting. If we get to the sweet 16 or elite 8 she is not going anywhere

We have one....she's about to show you how great she is with the players she's getting! Cooper, Hayes, Westbrook, and Massengill are the type of guards that's been a pain in our sides for so many years!!! Athletic, quick, and shot makers....now WE finally have guards of the same caliber......if we get Nicoletti....OMG!

We have three highly recruited guards on the current team, PLUS the No. 1 recruit in the country in Russell PLUS another player, DeShields, who had to have been a top 3 recruit nationally if not higher--and the national freshman of the year as a freshman--PLUS one of the most athletic forwards in the country (and another top recruit) in Nared. So, yea, talent ain't the issue.

Welcome,ms.Massengill,to Rocky Top!! We're glad you decided to be a Lady Vol.

Now on another note, can we welcome a new recruit without venting our spleen on Holly? Leave that for it's own thread.

Do you really think we're going to win anything with Warlick? Perhaps you don't know much about basketball.

Welcome to Rocky Top Ms. Massengill, you are sorely needed, an athletic big PG who can pass, shoot, defend and rebound. Now we have two verbals for 2018 with Collins being the other. Lets go Ododa, Nicoletti, DeCosta, Balogun and Dixon. As I predicted we will get 3 out of 5 ladies still on the board. Another Top 3 recruiting class coming to Vol Nation. Great Job Coaching Staff!!

Wow, I'm glad I don't feel like that, I'd hate to feel like I'm attending a funeral, that'll be a miserable way to feel every time our girls played! .....why not go cheer for another team?

How much did all your 401K,mortgage,life saving amount to that you said you were willing to bet? I took you up on that bet so just much does it amount to ? We can have someone reputable hold the money and assets until next year's season has been completed.I can cover up to $ 3 million and another poster said he would take whatever was left.So just how much does your bet amount to ....you did not respond to my previous post accepting your challenge.

Again, wait till next year!!! I guess Holly can't be great unless she has 15 five stars. I think it would be best to hold the great tag until you see results. You prove how good you are with the hand that have been dealt to you. At best it should be said, "Let us wait and see." There are no excuses for what is presently happening to the team.

Shame on you people for hijacking Jazmine's welcome thread and turning it into another Holly-bashing-fest. There are plenty of other places for you to do that.

Looks like recruiting is going very well again for 2018. In fact, recruiting the last 5 months has been better than it has been for a number of years. Haven’t you realized that all your negative posting about Holly is not going to hurt the team. Why not give it a rest and have a stiff drink. You may feel better and the rest of us want have to read/ignore your rants.

If fans are going to use the thread to suggest that the Vols just need talent to win, then others can react to that silly idea--as if talent is the issue in most of our losses (to teams with demonstrably less talent).
