Locksley just left for New Mexico State. He recruited Jenkins. I would think he is going to be soft at least now.

He never committed, but most did think that he would end up a Zooker. The sooner a staff gets put together the sooner we find out if people are interested.

AS I stated before I was 100% sure he was going to go to Illinois. Now that Locksley is gone, and taking people on the staff with him. I am now about 80% sure he WILL NOT go to Illinois, and I am SOOOO Hoping that he now comes to be a VOL! I can't wait to laugh at all my friends, how "Eric Berry is nothing compaired to Jelani" I can now shut them up and say, "You may be right, but we got both of em!"

You're friends must be really ignorant if they think Jenkins is better than Berry.

Jelani Jenkins would be amazing. Probably too much ground to make up on this recruitment, but this is exactly the type of player you'll see us bringing in next year with both Kiffins and Orgeron getting a whole year to recruit. Anyway, if we can somehow land Jenkins, he would be a perfect fit at WLB for the Cover 2. He's fast and can make plays in run support, while also having the ability to drop deep over the middle in pass coverage. Think Lance Briggs for the Bears or Derrick Brooks for the Bucs. Both play the weakside LB spot in the cover 2.

Jenkins has an official visit scheduled to Penn State and has already taken one to Florida. Yet he maintains those two schools don't have an edge just because they've locked down the first two official visits.
