They only film twice a week (five times a day), but the shows are very back logged. In real time, he was eliminated weeks, maybe even months ago.

I think they film 5 shows on Tuesday and 5 on Wednesday. Fatigue is definitely a factor, but you also get into a rhythm with the buzzer.

If Jeopardy fixes anything, it's the buzzers, but I don't think they do that. I think James lost fair and square and it wasn't some miracle that he only got 1/3 double jeopardies, and the one happened at an inopportune moment. He played 34 days, odds are that was bound to happen.
As someone who did Scholars Bowl ON TV I can attest to the immense fatigue or momentum that can set in during marathon taping sessions. I have been to The Show folks, and it was brutal.

Listening to Trebek’s recent interview, I’m afraid his cancer is taking a turn for the worst. He’s hinting of leaving his role soon. 😢

RE: match-fixing James

A conspiracy theory has emerged that James threw this one. There was buzz about how his separation from his little girl was hard on both of them just before he lost, and so some think he took a dive. When Andrew Luck retired, James' tweet either confirmed this conspiracy or he was playfully stoking the fire of a conspiracy he found humorous.

cant imagine being in my twenties with millions in my pocket! my sincerest and heartfelt dolences to Mr Luck, must be on Skid Row right now!!

Dude was given a gift from above. He took advantage. If he manages his money well, he'll never work again. GTFO with this 'kudo's to him' ********. I sware, ridiculous line of thinking.

Who high fives the single parent raising X or Y kids on middle class salary?

So who takes over Jeopardy after Alex?

I vote Ken Jennings, at least interim. We need another Alex Trebek type but it would be hard for the audience to accept a Trebek type. The new guy will never measure up. If they have Ken Jennings do it for a year or two, he's somebody the audience likes and he's not going to try to be Alex. It would allow them to take some time with the search and also it would give the audience time, too. If Jennings likes doing it and the audience wants him to stay, then that's a great result, too.

Hopefully that's a big NO!!! Alex even though popular never made the game about him. I can't say neither one of those would be that way.

Yeah, Ken Jennings would bring a little more personality to the show because he's quirky but he's not a big personality so it would work.

I looked it up and at some point Alex mentioned some names he would look at in replacing him and one of three names that I recognized and could see in that role is Turner Classic Movie host Ben Mankiewicz.

I hope they get the right host for the right reasons. I hope it doesn’t turn into a “we think it’s time for the Jeopardy host to be a (fill in the blank) , so let’s hire a (fill in the blank) to show we are inclusive” even if the host sucks.

You know that's what will happen.
