Notice where the suit was filed, DeKalb County, Alabama. For a chance at 1/3 of $100 million, there are a lot of attorneys who would spend some time making filings, etc., to see what might stick. If nothing else, the lawsuit costs the NCAA money to defend, making him feel better that he got some "justice".
If I remember correctly, most of our fan base was applauding the move at the time. The Schiano/Pruitt saga wasn't one of our better moments as a fanbase.Every time the name/image of Beldar resurfaces, I’m incredulous to think that Fulmer handed him the keys to fort Neyland as the “fixer” of the program.
Fans have no real power in such decisions and receive no compensation. There were a lot of errors in judgment made by several involved in the process but fans are at the bottom of the blame list.If I remember correctly, most of our fan base was applauding the move at the time. I get it, but just saying it is easy to throw Fulmer under the bus in hindsight for the hire when most of us were applauding it at the time.Fans have no real power in such decisions and receive no compensation. I notice his complaint says he was dismissed for things no longer “illegal “. I’m no attorney but I think it’s not a matter of illegally but if violated the bylaws of the NCAA.What attorney is taking this on? Pruitt can't have much left to pay an attorney out of pocket and I can't think this is likely to succeed where a firm could collect a contingency fee. At best he might get a minimal nuisance settlement.

Meh. The guy had the resume. Kinda figured in his interview presser we had problems though lol.
Still cheered for him to succeed and defended him until the end-or near it anyway. The same as I would any coach/player that signed up for the craziness of UT football.
We were certainly not the first program to whiff on a HC-we just had a particular talent for doing it 4 times in a row.
Reading the other poster saying the Schiano/Pruitt debacle was not our best moment. Pruitt-I agree. We made a bad call.
Schiano Sunday though-I'm proud of it. Sorry. We stood up and said enough is enough. The pundits are the ones who hated it and could not believe we disagreed with "their" opinion of who should represent us. I have talked with CFB fans across the country and they all pretty much admire us for that in a weird way-regardless of their thoughts on UT.
In the bitter end, I fully expect a healthy dose of drama to always follow UT football. Not sure I would really have things any other way lol.
I always root for sticking it to the NCAA
It's still an NCAA violation for a coach to directly hand a player cash. And there were other violations including impermissible contact and visits.Dude had the worst timing ever. He supposedly handed out a total of $60,000. A year and a
half after he’s fired, one player is getting $8 million. I’d be chapped about that too.
