From the Peanut Fest 7-on-7 tournament in Virginia:

Linebacker: Easily the star of the day at linebacker was four-star Jerod Askew. He showed some excellent ability in coverage keeping up with running backs and wide receivers. He displayed some aggression and good feet as well. It's hard to get a true gauge on linebackers in 7-on-7 play because there's no real contact, but Askew flashed his speed all over the place.

This is a huge need position and has to be right behind DT as a priority. Askew would be huge and from all accounts we are in very good shape with him. Mayo is a big reason for that and hopefully he will follow in his footsteps.

Our coaching staff's ties to Virginia and our recent success with Jerod Mayo have to be positives for us in his recruitment.

This young man would make an excellent addition to this recruiting class.

As long as he doesn't commit anytime soon, West Virginia's upcoming success should hinder their standing. Their new head coach is great for a feel good story, but he is no Rich Rodriguez by any means.

I think we land him. I'm just saying i think WVU will be our major competition.

Askew has named a top five.... West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Maryland, and USCe... it sounds like to me that WVU is our main competitor... his official visit to WVU is the Marshall game i'm sure we'll have him in for a better competitor and more impressive environment....

They guy's a beast! Let's bring him to Rocky Top and let him watch Bama get crushed. That should make it an easy decision for him
