I think if the vols were to win 5 more games and end up 22-11 i think i a 7 seed is where they would land

That's not true. When you get fouled the field goal attempt doesn't count unless it goes in.

The play in games can be any seeds iirc. We will be a low seed, all low seeds have a chance of playing in the play in games.
I'm not gonna complain about it though, it means we are, VCU had a nice run from the play in game slot didn't they?

Yeah they sure did, and UT would be capable of doing the same. But I would still want to stay out of that game if at all possible.

As for who plays in the games, the last 4 at-large teams in are the ones who play, along with the 4 lowest seeded automatic qualifiers. Usually, the lowest at-large teams are seeded 11, 12, or 13. If seeded 11th, I think we have a real good shot at avoiding the play-in game.

I'd take this bracket all day with the zags the 1 and NM 2. if we got past Louisville and os we would have a good chance to make the final four....not saying we will tho

Jerry Palm can see into the future? That's cool. Wasn't their a guy last year that had "never been wrong" that projected us an 11 seed and we didn't make the cut? yeah that happened. Sit back and enjoy the ride. The analysts don't know anything that we don't.

I agree with this. Not many top seeds would want to play a hot Tennessee team. That's assuming Tennessee would win its first round game, of course.

After the weekends games Jerry Palm still has us in the tourney. We just moved from 11 seed to one of last 4 in. Last 4 in according to him are Villanova, UT, Kentucky, and UMass. Next four out are Iowa State, Maryland, Ole Miss, and Baylor. St. Mary's, Boise St., La Salle, and Wichita St. are the 11 seeds.

So we need to be pulling against Villanova, Kentucky, UMass, Iowa St., Maryland, Ole Miss, Baylor, St. Mary's, Boise, LaSalle, and Wichita. Although Wichita is iffy. If they keep losing they will open a spot in the tourney, but they may come off quality wins list. I would think that having another spot come open is more important.

Think we just need to win every game we play which is probably a pipe dream at this point. I see Mizzou (even at TBA) kicking us down and out.........into the NITs.

Mizzou is garbage on the road. Don't see them winning in Knoxville.

IMO, the Vols need these last 2 games + 2 wins in SEC tourney to be in.

I think it's possible.

If UT wins the last 2 regular season games and 2 in the SEC tourney, they should be in the NCAA tourney.

If UT wins the last 2 regular season games and 1 in the SEC tourney, there will be some sweating in 2 weeks.

If UT loses to Mizzou, they need to win at least 2 in the SEC tourney to be in the conversation.

If UT loses to Auburn, they have to pretty much win the SEC tourney IMO.

Jerry Palm has a nice write-up on the bubble teams on cbssports.com. He has us on the fence. Interesting that he has Virgina out. Says that they have 7 bad losses and no team has even gotten in the tourny with that many.

It's true. Their losses are pretty bad. Worse than ours for sure.

Yea looking at resume I can't believe how high virgina is by Lunardi, and even bracket matrix, to me they should be last last 4 in or first four out.
