Jesse Scroggins still visiting?

LAMAISON. I don't know why so many idiots misspell it, its not that hard. And Scroggins would likely start as a true freshman unless Stephens are dramatically improved.

Never stopped saying it, even in my sleep.

Though I'm confident that the coaching staff continues to pursue Scroggins and would be very happy to get him, I suspect their primary focus remains on Bray. Appears to be a far greater chance of landing the latter IMO.

This is my take on things: Scroggins visited here and loved everything about it, and it sounds like he has formed a pretty good bond with players (He is clearly on a first name basis with Bryce) and most of all, loved the opprotunity to play early and often here. What overcame that though, was the pressure to stay close to home. Everybody around him wanted him to go to USC, especially his parents. They would be able to see almost all of his games, something they couldn't do if he went to UT. USC was just the smart choice, and I think Scroggins convinced himself that it was the right choice, even though he really likes Tennessee. He convinced himself that he would have a sure opprotunity to win at USC, whereas UT is rebuilding and still a question mark. In the back of his mind, he never stopped liking Tennessee, and that is why he is most likely going to visit. Will he be able to overcome all the pressure to stay at USC? Who knows, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me in the least, especially if we have a successful season.
USC was just the smart choice,

I would replace smart with easy. I think the rest of you're post is right on.

If UT lands Scroggins , then Bray might take Scroggins spot and go to SC. In my opinion bad move for UT , cause in the long run Bray will be much better than Scroggins. Right now Scroggins > Bray. In a year in a half Bray > Scroggins. JMO

Per VolQuest's Austin Price:

"There is an unknown about Tennessee," Scroggins said. "They have a good staff and some good players, but you don't know how they will do once they get into their schedule. I hope they go 12-0 because I like those guys out there. I want the best for everyone."

I don't know if we get Scroggins but this type of quote has me believing we are not far off from really reeling in some top notch kids off the west coast.

i think i actually agree with this. something tells me bray is a better investment of our time and effort.

I would love to have Scroggins, however he burned us once before and IMO cost us Rettig. The staff needs to stay focused on Bray and not let Scroggins come back in the picture and lose our chances with him too. If Scroggins wants to come here, let him come, but let him know we have diverted our focus elsewhere.

I Concur keep our eyes on the prize,Bray. If scroggins changes his mind let him come, but he is not the bell of the ball so to speak anymore.

Does anyone think that Pete Caroll may try and mess Lane? He recruited JS even though he doesn't need JS, CLK really wanted him. Rumor had it that Scroggins told Carroll a month prior to announcing that he was coming to SC. During that time we lose out on 2 other QB's Now CLK has made his way over to Cali to get Tyler Bray and all of a sudden Scroggins thinks he might visit Tennessee again and says "you never know what can happen."

This all seems strange. Now I'm not sure what their relationship was (CLK and CPC) but I'm sure it chaffes his tail when CLK talks about what HE did at USC. Maybe Carroll is sending a message saying "Hey Lane, remember I hired you and put you in position to be successful, don't forget where your bread was buttered."

CPC has way too much on his plate to worry about messing with CLK.

This kid is more confused than a teenage girl on her first period. I hope he picks the right school for himself...This thread is gonna stay at the top of the recruiting form until NSD is over...book it.

Here's my two-bit opinion on the situation. JS had a good time on his visit here and made some friends. He can now get a free trip back here, go to a game at Neyland, and hang with his buddies. What 17 year old wouldn't want to do that?

He really can't say "I am 100% solid to USC and am just gonna fly back to Knoxville to party and waste the coaches' time," which I suspect is the case.
