Hmm anyone think he might commit here? Especially with all the talent we are getting?

I have thought since he commited to USC that we would still get him on NSD. So yes I think we have a chance at him espesically if we get DeMarco Cobbs and Robert Woods.

I doubt we get Woods. I like our chances to get Cobbs though. And Scroggins is going to USC.

I bet if Scroggins said today that he changed his mind and now wants to come to UT, you'd welcome him with open arms.

You'd lose the bet. Sort of. If he did come to UT (and he won't), as a Vol fan I would welcome him. And the staff would probably give him a scholly. But...he had his chance, passed us by, and what's done is done.

He's not coming to UT. Accept it.

2009, and maybe '10, are going to be a challenge. Once the Vols start winning, the QB's, top-flight QB's, will come.

Go Vols.

I have high doubts about most of what you just said.

So you don't want Nu'Keese Richardson, since we weren't even on his list? How about Marsalis Teague? If Jeff Luc made a commitment to Florida right now, but 2 months from now decided to decommit and switch to UT, you'd say thanks but no thanks?

And about the being stingy with schollies. You do know that for next year we'll be pretty thin on QBs, right? We need QBs like Nicole Richie needs a cupcake. If you have a chance to get a 4* QB, you take him. When that QB is tailor-made for your system, you break down the door to get him.

FTR, I was never that big on Scroggins anyway. He was a good QB in a weak class. His family wants him in CA, and he chose USC. I hold no ill will against him, but I'm just not all that impressed by him.

Did Nu'Keese and Marsalis commit elsewhere, and then change their mind?

And if Luc commits to UF, that's where he'll go. This is not about hypothetical situations; this is about what already happened.

The QB's will come, if the Vols win. It's that simple.

Go Vols.

You have some stats on that???....:p

You have a computer. Go back over the last, say...five years, and look at FBS QB's that changed schools. For any reason.

Start with Mustain, and then work your way down from there. Don't forget Michigan.

Or Coleman.

Go Vols.

It's all about the big picture and every single one of you are missing the whole point.

He chose USC to help with the cultural divide out there. Who cares about football ?

I mean really ?

i think the staff should go after him hardcore then....which im sure they are...but i dunno i would rather have phillip sims...i think he could help us right away and scroggins is 2 scronny....he needs a couple of years to put on some weight...he would get killed in the sec.

Yeah, and I plan on winning the MegaBall.

Did they commit to UF? No.

If you're that big on Scroggins, go find the USC version of VolNation.

He's not coming. Get over it.

If it's just "me" you want to pick on, find a better path to follow.

Go Vols.

Yes. They verbally committed to Florida. Up until the last couple weeks Nu'Keese didn't even think Tennessee was in the picture. Just because I said that other people committed elsewhere then changed, I now want Scroggins so bad I'd give up my university?
All I said was that we would want him on our team, whether or not you think his hesitation on a choice of school is OK.

there is about as good a chance of JS decomitting from USC to come to UT as there is JC winning the Heisman this year. not gonna happen. his daddy doesnt want him far from home, for one. secondly, USC was his childhood favorite and hes stated now that he is okay with redshirting and waiting his turn. if hes as good as he and others think, then he will have no problem taking the lead role when his time comes, regardless of who they recruit after him. lastly, he is a QB, and it is a rarity for one to decommit. they are often some of the lead recruiters for a team.
