If Petersen goes to Arkansas and we get Strong, then UT has fallen more than we all want to believe. Petersen is a much bigger hire and a more proven HC.

I honestly believe that Hart has already screwed this hire up from the on-set. The story is that he was supposed to have contract in-hand or atleast a memorandum of understanding last Wednesday with Gruden. Hart in-formed Gruden that he wouldn't have the said documents and that he wanted to interview more in NY. This is when Gruden said no. Word is Gruden wanted around 9 mil including assistants but Hart was at 8.3. The check into cash man and another big booster were going to kick in the difference but Hart botched it. Word is that Peyton is pissed!

I hope this isn't true, but I certainly can believe it.

I know that I have only posted 5 times but I am on this site among others all the time. Mostly just enjoy reading all the comments but felt like I should share this info. If the number of posts is what makes one legit, then take my comment with a grain of salt.

Hart felt like he was being pushed by the big boosters to make the hire and even threatened to resign. I feel like this is why the deal wasn't done..it wouldn't have been his choice. Gruden also wanted control of the hires of all his staff which Hart wants to retain a few to keep from paying the buyouts.

Not saying it's not true, I have no sources, but I would think asst. coaches buyouts may have been something the big $$ was willing to take care of. But if true, I sure hope Hart isn't planning on keeping Sunseri. Might as well just forfeit every game next year if he's still around.

Maybe demoting back to inside LB coach like he was at Alabama and if he didn't like it he could leave on his own and probably wouldn't be owed a buyout. I think he probably is a decent backers coach.

Count me in that number. Petersen may be an absolute stud if he can recruit at a higher level. Every game he coached against big competition, even after the word was out that Boise State should be considered very dangerous, he seemed to get the best out of the coach versus coach match-up. I would not be as upset if we get Gary Patterson or, maybe, Jimbo Fisher but Petersen is probably better than either of those coaches.

Peterson has done good in big games, but usually the big games are with a month or whole off season to prepare. Ist different when you play a big time opponent every week. Plus with exception to the Georgia win, they typically played teams that didnt wanna be in the game.

Anybody that believes this are probably the same ones that believed that Gruden was already signed when CDD was fired.

If true then we would have a new AD right now because it is 100% guaranteed that if he said this and was fighting the Gruden hire, he wouldn't have finished his sentence before security was dragging him off.

Can you post a link?

I don't think he should leave untill he sees how it plays out; however, he has taken enough abuse to where I don't blame him

If he doesn't want abuse, he should stop throwing long on multiple 3rd and 1's, and he should learn that, if your run game is gaining an average 6 to 7 yards per carry, don't abandon it and go to the pass game.

This is the SEC, not the WAC.
