Jim Mora Jr

He didn't leave the Falcons under the best of terms and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way in ATL. Should pose for interesting recruiting. He spent a little too much time chumming up to the players instead of being a coach. He was an enabler for some stupid player behavior as well (see Mike Vick). His comments about bolting to Washington were not taken well either.

I guess that will do. Would have preferred facts, it is what it is I guess.

It's as simple as I can put it. He handles adversity poorly, tends to bristle at tough questions and effectively went off the deep end at the end of his tenure in Atlanta to the point that Arthur Blank just threw his hands.

Look . . . You guys know I'm no "negaVol". But this guy is just not a good leader. As I told someone earlier, Jim Mora is like the love child of Derek Dooley and Lane Kiffin.

I will say, the drive by handshake with Shaw Friday night made me question his maturity,

Interesting, thanks.

Personally, he has a Kiffin vibe to him. Don't know much about the guy, just kinda seems that way.

If we hire Jim Mora, the only possible conclusion is that Mora has pictures of Dave Hart with barnyard animals.

GA, you are much respected by Sparty, but there is no way that you don't have some personal Falcons based bias. Maybe it's because you have already pulled for a team of his and don't want to do it again. I don't know.

But we need excitement and players, and he can get both.

Strong has had one good year in a very weak conference. What is your opinion of him?

I like him. He's got SEC ties. He's worked at places like SC, Florida and Notre Dame for the likes of Urban Meyer and Lou Holtz. He's not ideal, but I think we could do a lot worse.

I sure as hell do have a Falcons bias . . . and that's why you should listen to me. I saw the guy at work day in and day out for 3 years and even know people that dealt with him.

Falling in love with one decent season at UCLA is sort of like what we did with the last guy.

No, just a good memory of the way Mora was while in ATL. Feel free to Google anything on his career in ATL. Everything GA says is 100% accurate. If anything, he was a little too polite in describing the flaw that is Mora.

I had lunch with a group of UGA fans today that actually started laughing and didn't believe me when I mentioned Jim Mora. They can't believe it either.

I'm going to take a wager here that if Mazzone wasn't his OC, he would be 6-6 this season.

If there's a red flag it's he's been with at least seven different teams and the longest stay has been three years.

I hated this guy at ATL. I don't get what people like about him.

I'm telling you. Recruiting here around metro Atlanta would be very awkward.

He hasn't been with the Falcons since my teenager was in kindergarten.

Coaches are a pain in the butt. Period. Even the best. Even the nicest.
And yes, I would base my decision over what is happening currently under him at UCLA, vs any opinion I would have of his coaching on the pro level. Just as I know Spurrier is a genius and Saban is the best, and they both sucked in the pros and pissed off everyone within earshot in the process.
jmo of course. I can understand your point. I also think you are smart enough to realize that was awhile ago and he was a very young hc.

got any explanation for how he took that UCLA juggernaut and got blown out for one of Cal's 3 wins?

his last year was '06, was it not?

Ask Washington and Miami how they feel about Spurrier and Saban.
Atlanta fans have been pissed off for years anyway. Nothing new there mayn.
