Jimmy Clausen...

There are other fish in the sea. I am interested in seeing who the new OC might snare before I lay my eggs in the Clausen basket. Team division and turmoil follow those kids around like white on rice.

JIMMY! For all of you Jimmy haters, please give valid reasons why you dont like him besides the fact that you dont like his brothers. I'd like to see some factual information that might sway me to change my beliefs in this kid. Give me objective points, not subjective.

I dont think we should put all of our eggs in one basket, but he's at least on option. We get several good QBs in here with Ainge and Crompton, and let good competition give us the Vol QB of the future.

Well, I am not so sure he wants to come here.

It would be nice to get him. But I just don't think he will come.

Objective.....he is a Clausen.

Tennessee has had a Clausen on the team for 6 years and have shown little or no improvement in the QB position.

It appears as though they disrupt team chemistry. There family is too involved with RS and the program, and have basically resorted to blackmail when it comes to JC. Either play RC or I am not going to consider UT.

UT needs a QB like Crompton who WANTS to come to UT. Not another inmate who wants to rule the assylum. What kind of power does a coach have over a kid who blackmails his way on to a football team?

Those are the facts.

If I were a top QB prospect, I'd have UT on my list. They need a QB in the worst way. I'd have a good chance to start 4 years and be looked at by NFL scouts. All college players on scholarship wish to go to the NFL. Even if they aren't in it for the money. The NFL is the dream. Many of the walk ons realize they dont have the talent, so they are satisfied with just being on the team.

Fair enough, I respect your right to your own opinion. I just would like to see more W's, whatever it takes.

No I am no Gator Fan.. In fact I have been a VOL probably longer than you have been alive. Now you thinking you are the all knowing, tell us what the outcome would be had EA stayed in the game, and why you think it will be any different in 2006.

Bring in Jimmy foor 2007. Coach Cutt go get him...

FYI Casey had his choice of a number of fine schools - Purdue was one which was riding high at the time - but Casey selected UT instead. Chris Low of the Tennessean said he has known for 3 months that Jimmy Clausen had no intention of coming to Tennessee.

He's right, Jimmy Clausen does not have any interest in playing here.

Sounds like all of our eggs are in Crompton's basket. Clausen is graduating and if the rumor is true Ainge is going on a 2 yr mission we have a red shirt freshman as qb coming off major shoulder surgery.

UT had a good year last year, but when Manning and C.Clausen were freshman we went to a minor bowl I think. This isnt going to sit well with Fulmer's efforts to get the program turned around. At least be another year.

I honestly don't believe that Ainge is going anywhere. Until I hear that reported I refuse to believe it.

Screw JC. There's hundreds of good QB's out there. Who says they have to be blue chip to be great or improve the team?

These things are planned well in advance. Mapu was supposed to leave after his freshman year, but opted to come back. If Ainge were leaving we would have heard about it by now.

Can't see EA doing mission work...Can't see RC coming to UT...Don't care if EA does mission work...Don't care if RC doesn't come to UT. Too many QBs that will come to UT out there too give this much thought. :twocents:

I agree. He may be a mormon but I dont think he as strict as most (ear rings). I agree he would not drop this on this coaching staff unless he is wanting to transfer. If thats the case, then yeah, he may do a mission to come back and play for another team. But I doubt it, unless he is seriously wanting to transfer.

Personally I'm Glad we're through with the Clausens. Vol Fans were hoping for championships when Casey was a soph and it never happened. All the Clausens have provided vol fans are peach bowls. Sure rick did a great job last year but we need to move on and find a different name. LONG LIVE CROMPTON!!!!!!!!!!!
