Maybe his brother Jeff Brohm should be the first to report Hyams retirement.

And before you say it, the "John" in "John and Jimmy" is also not John Adams. That's John Wilkerson. Who is also a Vol. And is also not John Adams.

Jimmy has always been a legend in his own mind. I like the way he announced his retirement 3 months before he does. He is trying to let everyone get it in their systems because he doesn’t want anyone jumping out of windows because he just walks out. I hope he doesn’t jerk his shoulder out of place patting himself on the back as he walks out the door. I also hope the papers can survive without him. I used to work with people that thought they were legends too.

Since I’ve been largely negative-I will say I appreciate his viewpoints, breadth and depth of knowledge, and appearances on Sunday Sports Source. It’s good to know LSU’s fanbase isn’t 100% mouth breathing morons. Maybe his retirement gig can be being the brains of the LSU fanbase.

Oh my God you're right. I'm mistaken. Sorry about that. I've thought all these years that people just mixed up John Adams and Jimmy Hyams because they both had names that began with J and had been around for decades.

Why are all of Tennessee's sports media guys from Louisiana? This is going to take some processing.
