JJJ hurts us on offense and its apparent when he’s gone

Imo, I don’t think JJJ truly developed into his max potential.

It’s mind boggling a kid his size settles for jump shots 90% of the time.

If he would have evolved his game into a slasher/type guard who can also make the 3, he would have been an NBA draft pick.

I still appreciate his work ethic but damn, what could have been.

Our staff doesn't seem to be able to develop players other than point guards (other than possible Grant and Admiral)

Our post players never seem to develop to their upside potential. We really need an assistant coach that is a post player specialist.

Seems the players that are developed end up taking 2-3 years to reach their potential, which seems pretty slow compared to some other schools.

As I recall, Barnes has begged JJJ to attack the rim but he’s always hesitant to do so.

JJJ has an NBA body but doesn’t have the aggressiveness to take it to the next level.

That’s some interesting nonsense.

He had a great game today, no doubt. A little maddening that he's so night/day in the quality of his performances, though. Hopefully he keeps this up and continues putting points on the board.

Its true. He hucks up a lot of 3s and mid range shots. Can’t drive it to the rim. Great defender and “glue guy”. But JJJ is better when he’s on the bench.

Against Vanderbilt he had 28 minutes of play went 1-7, 2 pts, 5 brds and a steal. Not great minutes for our senior 5*.

Against Florida he had 29 minutes of play and went 2-11. Finishing with 4 pts, 7 rebounds and an assist.

We look better without him clogging our offense.

Great performance today by JJJ. Makes OP and others look silly who only focus points scored. Sure, he is up and down in scoring, but so are alot of our guards. For JJJ, its the versatility he brings. He can do a little bit of everything well when asked. Shoot the 3 ball, make free throws, handle the ball, be a vocal leader, instruct his teammates, get rebounds, and overall good size as a guard. I for sure would love for him to come back another year.

CLEARLY…the Vols are a much better team with JJJ. And hopefully we’ll have JP and TK available again soon as well. I know we were playing SC but with JJJ on the floor our team just seems tighter and crisper . Hope he stays healthy going forward.

We need all of our players to make a run! Even JJJ and JP. I really like feeding the ball inside to Plasvic. Wish we could more.
