Jobs report

I hate to say it but the answer to the labor issue is at the border. The company I just hired to do some renovations sent a couple of Latinos and they did in two weeks what local guys would have taken 3 months to do.

They showed up at 7, took an hour for lunch and two 10 min breaks. Quit at 6-6:30. 6 days a week.

Not a solution. People need to pull their weight in life. If not, the ship sinks.

Wife was telling me about a story she read where an illegal set up a contracting company and hired American workers. Paid then under the table so they could continue to collect ue

How the turntables...

Just wait till all of us POS baby boomers quit working and the US will be screwed because the new generation can't even drive a car with a manual much less use their hands for anything.

You shouldn't expect much from a generation worrying about the messages in Snow White, Prince Charming and other fairy tales.

You can tell a boomer by how often he references driving a manual transmission as a true test

As a business owner, how long would you wait for this awakening? I hope it comes as much as anyone but the guy putting gutters on my building at 7 PM last night said he had booked 40 jobs and all his workers had quit. He's a crew of one right now and he's either going to have to pack it up or hire some Latinos

My contractor just lost a laborer (not a lead carpenter) to another company because he couldn't match $200/day

If I could find latinos with CDLS and willing to travel I'd hire them by the truckload.

Socialism at it's finest when the private sector has to compete with the government for a worker when one offers a job and the other offers free money to sit on your ass.

They actually can in Mexico and south.

I think most of the world drives cars with manual transmissions.

Few years ago son went to Germany with his boss, they got 2 rental cars but his boss couldn't get one with an automatic transmission. They had to completely change their plans so he could drive his boss around.

I am not saying you did anything wrong, just that it isnt a real solution in the grand scheme.

We cannot continue to cultivate a welfare state. There is a tipping point.

So you're saying Tytler was onto something with this:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury.

And yet the unemployment rate went up as Biden says it's not his fault.

well it's funny because they are landing now on the schools being closed as the reason yet there is zero urgency from them (and actual collusion between CDC and teacher unions) to reopen them.

for me the only question is are they clueless or is the plan to advance other policy to address the problem they are perpetuating.
