Joe Milton tonight

If any of you are not familiar with this channel on YouTube, you might wanna check it out. It’s called QB school and it’s ran by a former QB. I like it because he gives breakdowns that most guys don’t. Talking about footwork and how to hold your hands. I like his breakdowns on Milton’s performance. Hopefully Joe can continue to improve. Worth a watch.

Very true. It was a good performance and I hope he does well. In saying that, it was also against a lot of guys that probably won't make the team, rookies or practice squad guys. I definitely wanna see how he does against ones and two's. It's also a matter of if New England carries 2 or 3 QB's. He could end up on the practice squad, but hopefully they carry 3. Right now he's running 3rd, at best.

The better he plays and the looks, the better it is for CJH and his QB system.
Every issue and obstacle he’s had has been mental. Perhaps he finally found someone to help with that?

Most likely either Joe or Bailey Zappee is going to be cut. They already have a backup QB and probably won't keep 4 QBs. I think Zappee got more time because he has been there a while and played in some games. But in a small sample size, Joe outplayed Zappee.

It doesn’t really matter. Joe showed enough that he will be on somebody’s roster. Likely NE, because I can’t imagine that they would be stupid enough to cut him and keep a middling QB.

Nobody can deny the physical attributes. He has tremendous upside, but those already predicting a 10+ year NFL career need to tap the brakes.

The best scenario right now for Joe is a QB3 situation where he can improve and learn with little to no pressure. IMO, he is at best a 2-3 year project.

Still needs to do better with accuracy, touch and understanding everything pre- and post-snap.

There’s no better organization to be a 6th round former Michigan QB than New England. I believe Joe has a chance to make it and I hope that if he does pick up some hype, the media doesn’t miss the comparison.

Ah Ha! So THAT'S why they were talking about Joe @ Michigan. Frustrated me, since Joe never really saw the field at Michigan. Boy the media.

lol his TD throw was everything frustrating about him at TN. His WR has a wide open lane to the endzone and he throws a dart behind him, so the WR has to turn around and get it. Luckily he's an NFL WR and in a ton of space so he was able to finish the play.

Just reminded me of how many time he threw it behind Squirrel in 2023

The throw was behind, but had so much zip it made it past the defender.

Belicheck isn’t the head coach anymore. They are irrelevant now.

At least his WRs in NE seem to be sure handed. He didn’t throw it behind Squirrel all the time. Just stop.

My take. JoMil was fortunate. Faced a three-man front, and yet his OL let them through. If this OL is what the Pats will field, Joe will be pressured every play. So may not produce very well.

Jo is fast, we saw a bit of that at the UT, just a bit. But he showed it off in the clip. Might be the means that keeps him alive when under pressure.

His TD pass was a dart. I believe his NFL receivers are better able to handle his 200mph passes than college guys. So if given time to pass, we will see a high percentage of completion and far fewer drops than when he was at the UT.

Offhand comment: I keep referring JoMil to Doug Williams, but I find it interesting that his jersey number is the same as another big arm QB. Who despite his fame, was sort of his or miss like Williams. Both lucked out by having 1-2 very, very good receivers. Who? Johnny Unitas.

The dog and crystal ball haven't responded, so I will just go ahead and post this.

The throw was not behind. It wasn’t in front, either, which would be ideal. It was right on the numbers, and when a receiver is that open, it is an excellent place to put the ball.

Anyone complaining about that pass it nitpicking.

I agree, some team will give him a shot, and then who knows? With the right coaching he could develop into a solid NFL QB. Like you stated, he has the physical talent for sure.

Joe initially started at Michigan, like he did here.

Joe got replaced at Michigan, like he did here.

We got some fans who, like saw-scaled vipers, lie in wait for the slightest opportunity to badmouth JoMil, and some other of our players and ex-players.
I think it was nice to see our ex-QB outshine one that's supposed to be his superior. Go Vols!

This guy assessed Milton a year ago and was pretty fair about it. Not overly positive, not overly negative, just frank about his strengths and weaknesses. I wanted to post it here, but the channel's taken that video down since. Not sure why.

Actually, I can't find several of his breakdowns now. How odd. I wonder why he's removing some of them? Anyway.

Joe will have an NFL QB job for 10+ years. Whether that's as a starter or a back-up is anyone's guess at this point. But he's not going anywhere.
I would have loved it for Joe if he could have played a year of arena football. I think it would have really helped in his development and processing the game faster. But a 10 year nfl gig is a sweet deal whether you are riding the pine or playing

I know you are only considering the competitive aspect in regards to arena football but that league is in real financial problems with franchises folding and debts not being paid. They had to move their title game to an indoor mall in NJ. I’m sorry for all the players who were left out of work suddenly or never got paid.

I agree with others that Joe is in a perfect situation. No pressure and a good organization. I think it’s worth it to NE to have a strong armed QB handy when the weather turns bad.

That is a shame about the league .
