I think to defend it, you'd have to do what you just mentioned. And if the team is still struggling, you have to add in 3 smacks to your own face with an open palm.

I emailed Bill King's show and he confirmed it. That doesnt mean it's set in stone but it's just another source.

Here's a statement from Cal's press conference held earlier today:

On the quarterback situation:
"I have not completely decided. There are too many variables going on this week, depending on Nate's health. It wouldn't be good to name one and then have to change it. I don't want to get into it. Nate felt really good yesterday, feels really good today, and we'll see how practice goes today and I'll evaluate it again after today. He practiced very well and today he feels even better. The trainer told me he's even looser today than he was so we'll just see how it goes day-to-day. I haven't talked to the quarterbacks yet, so I don't really want to say something without talking to them first. I just think it's too early after one day of practice to see, I want to evaluate it again today and then go from there."

It does make sense to me that its a smoke screen by Tedford to force Chavis into using a basic D then adjust later...considering Tennessee isn't (IMO) a big after kickoff adjustment team...its a sound tactical move. But who really knows?

The San Francisco paper indicates today that Longshore's health is improving and he will be available Saturday.

Isnt this great news for us that they havent decided on a QB yet. I mean their rhythym should be all screwed up. And if their running game isnt working we should cruise to victory.....right???

With Cal not naming their QB, it makes you think they're going to try and run the ball down our throat doesn't it?

Of course, this all could just be a game and Tedford has already told the team and only the team who will be starting.

Has Cal beaten a decent opponent outside of the Pac-10 in the last 10 years??

I mean they are being hyped big time, but have they won a big game on the road????
