John Adams Article

Hmmmmm. Apparently you haven't followed his "journalistic career". That's OK, no need to get all protective of him just because I deem him a hater. :)

Glad you enjoyed the SB game. It was a wild one:eek:hmy:.

Adams is an AH of the 1st degree but is right on target with all his recent articles on Coach Warlick.

That's a load of hot crap. Adams writes to stir the masses and it is rarely for anything "good". He gets to write more when things are going wrong, not right. If he calls for a firing that happens, it just feeds his stinking ego. I have more regard for the gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe. He needs to take a long walk off a short pier into shark infested waters. If there is a species of shark that can stomach him.

Agree with your summation of Adams but he is on target with his articles on Coach Warlick.

I don't give a hot damn if he is. Only thing his sorry ass needs to target is retirement and a move to ISIS held territory. I am as big of a critic for Holly Warlick as anyone. But if Adams wants them gone, I say give them another 5 years and a raise.

ISIS would be too good for him. Send him to the Sindh Province.

I don't know if he's a hater, but he so badly wants to be know of as quick, clever, sardonic, adroit and a witty wordsmith...

obviously he's not.

Probably a better summation than my hater. And Rickster is right, this discussion is about Adams, not Holly. Without a doubt she is on the hot seat and the team needs to play at its ability. I think Adams makes himself feel good by trying to pull others down. Wish he would focus on self improvement instead.

Love your adjectives 😁.

Anyone heard from Jeff?

I hate to question players on any level.

But the last two mystery seasons might have an answer lying with one player....

How long as Diamond been on this squad?(notice I did not say team)

Now if this should be the case, then it is most definitely Holly's fault to not get it fixed.

I know I should not run down any one person and it probably is not accurate in the case. However, 2 years of Diamond, and as Adams said in many words, last two years not a good TEAM. Having worked with women for most of my life, it doesn't take much for things to breakdown if one women doesn't fit in. Don't mean this as a belittling statement , it's just their competitive nature.

I'm sure many will say I wrong with how I see this problem. But 2 years of Diamond and two less then acceptable years.

Now ,placing blame ----- HOLLY.

Savannahfan, you hate to question any player, then proceed to do so. There are at least two other players that were on this team the last two years only, yet you did not question them. This seems to be just a roundabout way to downgrade Holly again. And as to questioning players, maybe one should stick to questioning performance and not motives or attributes. Performance can be seen and graded and not all are good, though the player tries to give her best. It is fair to comment on that, while not ascribing any other motive or action.

No one pays attention to him that man knows nothing who fires a coach who averages a 25 game win but I believe we need to give her at least this year to get us back in the right direction and two transfer now days is nothing

He has won awards and rights the truth. Plenty of people listen.

Maybe you didn't read it. She has won less games each year. Anybody can win 25 a year with a team full of All Americans.

So, John Adams is presumably a professional sports journalists. So, it is reasonable to expect him to provide a more nuanced analysis of Holly's specific coaching deficiencies and/or the strategic reasons that the team has lost more games over the last two years than has been the norm. Instead, we get an "analysis" more akin to your drunk uncle calling into a sports radio talk show: them gurls don't look happy playin" bahl; that Holly gal ain't no good at a coachin for damzhure.

I am not sure i have an issue with the basic breadth of the article.....

Transfers, though, are not at the root of our biggest problem.

Actually, Diamond has been in the program 3 years. 1 red shirt year and 2 playing years. Tea has been in the program 2 years.

How long has Meme Jackson been on this team? Two years. Two years of Meme Jackson, and last two years not a good TEAM. Two years of Meme and two less than acceptable years.

I'm not blaming Meme Jackson. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous your thinking is.

to be analytical and opinionated. They are not paid to be pollyannaish and pretend everything is wonderful when quite obviously it is not. A blind man could see that there are serious problems with Warlick. If anything, Adams is too subtle.

It wasn't a bad article at all, but Adams ignores the fact many programs have transfers these days and it is far more common. I have less of a problem with Warlick than many on this board even though the last two years haven't been great by LV standards. Holly is the coach next season, and honestly I would just start Hayes and Westbrook with Diamond, Nared, and Russell. Guard play has been problematic for the LVs since Pat was coaching. The staff should reconstruct the offense around the talents of the freshmen and let them play it out. Jackson, Davis, Green and KK can provide opportunities off the bench.

I think u have a good point. Diamond has the worst body language of any Lady Vol in my lifetime. She looks like she would rather be doing anything than playing basketball. What does that mean? I don't know? But, it can't be good, for her or the team

I disagree. She is ultra competitive and would get down on herself at times but she never looked like she'd rather be doing something else.

Diamond has worn her emotions on her sleeve for all the years I have seen her. (Going back to 2006-7)...But she won National Titles all the while.

It takes a coach with a will stronger than hers to get the best out of her.
A coach she can't impress.

The one thing I do know for certain about that young woman...She would rather compete than breathe.

Once again, this is not about Holly or supporters of the team as much as some of you want it to be. This is about Adams. He is a bammer hammer. Always has been and always will be. He normally is a thorn in the side of other UT programs especially when things are not at their optimum but apparently has seen a chance to stick it to the women's team. Ask pretty much any coach on the hill and they will say he is an embarrassment to the profession and is always looking to amplify dirt whenever possible.

So, Adams embarrasses you but Holly is still a terrible coach. :eek:k:
