Yet another journalist who made $$ over the years insulting our program, our players, our coaches, and our fan base, now scrambling clumsily to get a place on the Tennessee bandwagon.

He goes onto the stack with Pat Forde:

Any journalist who tried to put lipstick on the smelly turd of the past 15 years woulda lost all credibility.

Seriously, what would you folks want the media to do? We sucked. They reported it. No need to shoot the messenger.

I've listened to Adams on Basilio a bit recently, and the guy is pretty darned knowledgeable, and very pro-Vol. Not sure where the hate is flowing from.
Do you know his history? Few have done more to undermine UT's image than he has.

Even if it is a "positive" article... I won't click. I do not want to contribute in any way to him getting paid for what he does. There is objective journalism that "bites"... and then there are guys who relish in tearing things and people down. That's his history going all the way back to Fulmer in the early 2000's.

This right here, he is the main reason I dropped KNS.

He was one of the first media guys to question whether Fulmer's time was up. This didn't sit well with a large part of the fanbase. He caught crap because he didn't jump up and down and fangirl with every new hire we made. He has been too critical at times for sure, but he's not an employee of the university. His job isn't to pump sunshine and roses. If you want the media to give a coach the "Saban" treatment, then the coach needs to produce "Saban" results first.

He made Fulmer's job a lot harder especially in recruiting with the things he wrote... and especially early on in Fulmer's decline.

Funny... the media around Bama and UGA don't tend to lift their leg on the program they cover.

PS- I'm pretty sure Adams is an LSU grad. Take that as you will.

I get it. You are spot on, especially with the first sentence. I've not been a fan of his. Like I said, if you want the media to cover you like Bama and UGA, you need those results.

I knew Jimmy H. was an LSU grad....I don't know if I knew that about Adams. Interesting.

Adam’s tells the truth and gives fair takes on the Vols. Check him out on Tony Basilio’s show. He gets a lot of hate here.

Their soft coverage was there before they were good. Almost like an arm of the program.

I don't mind objective journalism and Fulmer did plenty to criticize. Adams went too far IMO. He hammered some topics that he had to know would hurt recruiting like the player discipline issues.

John Adams licks his finger and sticks it up to see in which direction the wind is blowing.

I have never understood why we continue to tolerate John Adams as the Sports Editor of the News Sentinel. We have had some great ones in Tom Siler and Marvin West. Plainly Adams is the South end of a North bound mule!

Adams was probably more right than wrong the last 15-20 years, we just didn't like hearing it. Sunshine pumping for the lIkes of Dooley, Butch or Pruitt would be akin to state run media - who wants that?

For those of you who didn’t want to read the article he said the coaching from CJH is the best he’s seen at Tennessee in his 35 years covering the Vols. I think he’s right.

Majors has flashes but not consistency, Fulmer relied on talent and coordinators, Kiffin showed greatness before nuking us into the stone ages, and the rest were below average.

You talk about Marvin West andAdams as if they are/were good writers. If that be the case, then Caleb Calhoun is the next coming of Paul Forde and the above two.I believe he is the only writer on All For Tennessee.

Love him or hate him -- and we all know the consensus -- he is correct that Tennessee looks like a better coached football team than bammer this year. I have watched most of their games, and they do not look sharp. They at times look sloppy. An honest Bama fan would say the same. Parts of the Vols defense have been exposed, but the good guys have looked sharp this year.

Well it's pretty clear that Heupel has the VOLs pulling together as a team and the sum as a team is greater than the individual pieces - what used to be called synergy when that was a popular buzz word. Alabama has more talented individual pieces no doubt, but their squad hasn't gelled yet. However, they are 6-0 even without having hit their stride. If they stay out of sync, we have a decent shot at knocking them off. Let's just hope this isn't the week they actually come together. I want to play the same Bama team that struggled last week against A&M.
