I don't really care. What difference does it make?

I have said this on numerous occasions, I don't have a hatred for Tennessee. I don't care what happens as long as (a) Florida wins the annual meeting (b) Florida wins the east.

Other than that, Tennessee can win every game 77-0 and I wouldn't care.

I am actually cheering for Tennessee this weekend.

Yes you do or you would not even log on this site...contrast

to try to turn this into a serious discussion, what are the reasons all of you would have for tennessee beating oklahoma this weekend?

99,

It's like any game when one team is a decisive favorite...anything can happen. Turnovers, penalties, remarkable individual plays, great coaching and preparation, coaching mistakes, etc. Otherwise, we should just pick up the paper the first of the week and if the spread is double-digits, just cancel the game and save everyone time and money.

As they say, there's a reason the games are played. Let's take our chances and perhaps the football gods will be smiling come Saturday night. Upsets...big upsets...are probably one of the most exciting and interesting things in all sports, not just football.

Adams is a realist and not a homer. People hate him for being honest.

to blow PR smoke just to please the fans. That's why being a sports columnist in a college town is a tough job. You are supposed to tell it like it is, not like how the coaches or the fans wish it would be. And what exactly has he had to be positive about for the last decade +? We've suxed.

I recall the last big upset where Tennessee was a big underdog was 2001 in the Swamp. I think they were getting close to 20 in that game. Although that was a very good team, you cant compare it to this team. Stranger things have happened, and I like the way this team works together, believes in each other as evidenced on film by sticking to their assignments. It is not too far fetched for the real UT to win this weekend, likely, probably not. But that is why they play the game. I would think you would be more worried about KY this Saturday than what the Big Orange does against the Sooners.

The day I worry about Kentucky in football is the day I worry about Georgia Southern

Honestly, I know Oklahoma has the advantage in every area possible on paper. The one thing that Tennessee has that Oklahoma doesn't is something to prove. I know some say stoops wants to prove his worth by beating a sec team. He knows we are coming off several losing seasons and to them Tennessee really isn't a big deal. I'm sure their team has these same feelings. This Tennessee team has a different attitude compared to the roll over and quit that has been there the past few years. They believe, and I've watched more than once that bring victory to the under dog. I'm not saying Tennessee is going to win, but I'd bet they fight and have a shot at it. They want to prove something .

Agree on most of your points but much, not all, of the same things could be said about going to Oregon last year. They, like Oklahoma, want to do whatever they can when they can to any SEC team and this team did want to prove things were changing in Knoxville. Their hearts were there but could not match it with skill and experience.

Yes, this years team is better, much better. But expect the same result only less margin (+30) with the jailbreak happening in the 4thQ. Look for Bob Poops to run it up for the fan base. IMO they cover easy. I live and die orange but I cannot overlook one of the worst O-lines I can recall at UT and that by itself spells disaster in Norman.

The only way is if Tennessee's newcomers are even better than expected this early and make that much of a difference. It is a steep uphill climb, though, and folks should chill even if we get beat handily. Stoops has 4 years worth of top shelf recruits. Butch has only 1 1/2.

Every second wasted reading John Adams' drivel is time you'll never get back.

Just. Don't. Click.

If that last sentence is true, I'm guessing that this is the only time in history when a gator fan would cheer for the Vols.....

I don't want to play in the serious discussion about the Vols/Sooners sandbox. I'd much rather ride the carosel where we're all trying to get adams spun off the KNS staff. It's much more fun and it's important too.

Haven't read a John Adams article in 2+ years. Just doing my part to reduce the number of clicks his drivel gets online.

“Let us tenderly and kindly cherish therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write .”

“While our country remains untainted with the principles and manners which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world; while she continues sincere, and incapable of insidious and impious policy, we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice our local destination. But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation, while it is practising iniquity and extravagance, and displays in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candour, frankness, and sincerity, while it is rioting in rapine and insolence, this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world.”

“A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”

wut has that got to fo with bashing adams for being a good for nothing?
