I was in Walgreens the other day and a Knoxville News Sentinal guy was in there trying to sign people up. He asked me and I said "if you get rid of John Adams I'd think about it." He then told me, "you don't know how many times I've heard that today." .. I think his comment in the presser about the players clapping was really smarta$$ and most of his colums are only negative.. I'm just wondering, how does he stay around?? Does the news sentinal go for "The guy people love to hate?"
Before you go into, "He posts facts and the truth and people don't like it" bull .. it's not that he posts truth, he finds the bad parts of every situation. Anyways, just trying to talk about something other than the "3 star terrible, worst, never going to play players" that CBJ is recruiting according to some.. because that gets annoying to read.
Lets just tell the media they can only print positive things about the Vols.

From my read on John...he seems to wait for a scenario to play itself out and then digs in to gather stories, facts, and gives us a recap of events, issues, ect. It is nothing new or ground breaking in reporting, and as annoying as it can be at times, he is generally on target.
Truth hurts.
Bingo. That's exactly what he does. It bothers some people because they only want to be told stories of rainbows and unicorns. I thought he (along with the rest of the local media) was VERY easy on Dooley for way to long. Yet the DD lovers hated all the media for pointing out how crappy things were under DD. They (the media)along with anyone who wasn't blind saw it from the beginning of DD's tenure.

You goobers are funny. First, Adams writes positive columns when there are positive developments to write about. Have their been a lot of positives around UT athletics in recent years? Maybe I missed them. The football team has been terrible; coaches have left; the basketball team was a positive until Pearl left; the women's basketball program hasn't been to a final four in four or five years. When there is positive stuff to write about, columnists do. But, no, their job is not wear rose-colored glasses and make fans feel good. Everybody's an opinion-maker nowadays, so don't take it all too seriously.
