John Adams

People have been complaining about Adams for as long as I remember. Way longer than some of you have been alive. He isn't going anywhere. If you're complaining that means you're reading.

I was in Walgreens the other day and a Knoxville News Sentinal guy was in there trying to sign people up. He asked me and I said "if you get rid of John Adams I'd think about it." He then told me, "you don't know how many times I've heard that today." .. I think his comment in the presser about the players clapping was really smarta$$ and most of his colums are only negative.. I'm just wondering, how does he stay around?? Does the news sentinal go for "The guy people love to hate?"

Before you go into, "He posts facts and the truth and people don't like it" bull .. it's not that he posts truth, he finds the bad parts of every situation. Anyways, just trying to talk about something other than the "3 star terrible, worst, never going to play players" that CBJ is recruiting according to some.. because that gets annoying to read.

Personally I can't stand John Adams. I even wrote him and shared my thoughts on all of his negative columns. I suggested he follow and write on a program he actually supports. I suggested Vandy. He wrote back with his typical a.. Hole remarks. I don't even bother reading his columns anymore. So no....you're not alone in you opinion of him.

Lets just tell the media they can only print positive things about the Vols.

Who named it "Go Vols .com" ?

Who left John Brown's picture as the avatar for the recruiting section for months?

Fraudulent bunch of Barney Fife's.

You should subscribe to the Maryville paper to see how it should be done.

Pathetic.

He does tell the truth and make good points. Homers don't like when some one doesn't kiss our butt all the time. What he writes usually turns out to be true.

Wrong.

He doesn't 'tell the truth'.

He tries to put a negative slant on everything.

I love John Adams.

I don't think he sensationalizes things the way most of the knoxville media does and I think he's a pretty straight shooter.

In Tennessee sports coverage I consider it a two horse race for the best journalist: John Adams and Brent Hubbs.

Read Marvin West's columns in the Union County paper.

You goobers are funny. First, Adams writes positive columns when there are positive developments to write about. Have their been a lot of positives around UT athletics in recent years? Maybe I missed them. The football team has been terrible; coaches have left; the basketball team was a positive until Pearl left; the women's basketball program hasn't been to a final four in four or five years. When there is positive stuff to write about, columnists do. But, no, their job is not wear rose-colored glasses and make fans feel good. Everybody's an opinion-maker nowadays, so don't take it all too seriously.

I would come back to the KNS if Adams did not work for them and I know there are a lot of us out there who would do the same. You would think they would realize how much that disgraceful so-called journalist costs them.

I don't understand why Adams gets so much hate. He's one of the few good media members in Knoxville. He actually goes against the grain from time to time and says what he thinks as opposed to writing what the UTAD tells him to write, much like the rest of the Knoxville media tends to do.

From my read on John...he seems to wait for a scenario to play itself out and then digs in to gather stories, facts, and gives us a recap of events, issues, ect. It is nothing new or ground breaking in reporting, and as annoying as it can be at times, he is generally on target.

Truth hurts.

Bingo. That's exactly what he does. It bothers some people because they only want to be told stories of rainbows and unicorns. I thought he (along with the rest of the local media) was VERY easy on Dooley for way to long. Yet the DD lovers hated all the media for pointing out how crappy things were under DD. They (the media)along with anyone who wasn't blind saw it from the beginning of DD's tenure.

Rucker, Hyams, Dearstone, Harrington, and Jacoby rode Dooley's jock until the Sunday following the Vandy game. It was sickening.

I like John Adams. It's good to see the perspective from a negative side. He brings light to many issues that would otherwise be obviously covered up by a sunshine pumper.

He is either your boss or you have not read his work

His comment at the presser wasn't really the most disturbing thing..but rather how poorly dressed the press was. I was sort of taken back by the overall slovenly appearances of the journalists.
