8 LSU defenders taken in the first 5 rounds. Record.

That's impressive.

He's one of the best D-Coordinators of the last half century

No doubt and recruiter obviously. Too bad we underpaid the hell out of him. Along with getting passed over as HC, he had enough.

As much grief as he's taken on this board I tend to agree. After watching that trainwreck we called a defense last year I'd have given anything to go back to the days of Chief.

He is.....unless his team only has a 7 point or less lead and the other team has the ball in the waning minutes. Then it's prevent time.

He's a great one, and I think his heart will always be here. I don't think he is head coach material though, but do wish we'd thrown the money his way to stay here as D-Coord.

Can you count players that were ejected from your university and did not play football within the last year as LSU's players? If so, DaRick and what not should be on our count as well

The only reason to give John any real grief was his sooooft zone defenses especially when later in the game.

Our talent level on this upcoming team is nowhere, nowhere near the average talent level of John's teams.

It's started with Chavis' eye for talent and ability to close recruits. he's still doing it and we fooked the pooch on this coach. :banghead2:

That's another thing. Fulmer was more than happy having John called a demeaning Indian nickname. Helped keep the competition for Phil's job status quo.

Do you honestly think that Chavis couldn't have stopped people from using the nickname Chief if he didn't like it?

What is a more demeaning nickname Chief or Phil?

Dear Tonto,

How about we name you Tonto, Tonto? OK? :good!:

Good. Done. Tonto it is. :clapping:

Gotta love the people that feel offended about someone else's nickname when said person has no problem with his nickname. Keep on fighting the good fight.
