Johnny Manziel SENT HOME from Manning camp

Everyone knows he is just a college student trying to enjoy himself. but at some point the (KID) needs to figure out that this is going to be his career and he should take a camp like the Manning camp he should take it serious. The guy is showing very little class in a world where our sports heros need class the most.

has Sumlin come out in support of anything that JFF has done since they rolled in the Cotton Bowl?

This kind of behavior seems indicative of a guy who is a lousy leader.

I wish JFF much success this year on the field. I hope he throws for 6000, rushes for 1500, scores 50 TD's, wins his second Heisman...and then heads out of town on Highway 6 as fast as he can.

He is an embarrassment to Texas A&M.

I've said from day one dude is a punk, he makes Tyler Bray look like Tim Tebow.

No wonder Sumlin didn't let him talk to any of the media last year.

I almost wish Bama would beat the crap out of him...........almost

Right, being hungover at 20 makes one a punk...

Not at all. Just making sure that everyone understands that being hungover at 20 makes one a punk.

Didn't see anywhere in the quote you referenced that the poster said this. In fact, I think he mentioned "since day one" which would have been before this incident even happened.

Nice try though.

Right, my bad. I guess what I meant to say is that we should always jump to conclusions about everyone and be sure to label them a punk the first time we encounter them.

Thanks for clearing that up.

So in other words, you are fishing for an argument.

Of course I am, as that is the entire point of discussion (discourse, and argument is discursive). Would you rather just spend time reading one person's opinion followed by a series of affirmations?

I guess my view of any discussion is to discuss... which doesn't mean one has to argue. I've been part of, and see on VN on a daily basis, many examples of this.

Many of your posts, on the other hand, appear to be purposefully antagonistic.

Your failure to understand simple concepts is a personal problem.

As for being antagonistic, I'll gladly be so in response to the labeling of a twenty year old as a 'punk'for such trivial ****.

I don't consider him a punk but he did admit to lying to the police. That makes him shady IMO but still nothing really out of the ordinary. Cocky, yes. Punk, no.

here's an idea people

stop idolizing athletes and making them into super human deities. they aren't. they are normal people (college kids) who happen to be good at sports. they still have flaws, they still like to have fun, they still have their individual personalities. they aren't here to please you, they are here to play a sport.

stop expecting them to behave differently because they are an athlete and all your worries will go away.

people put their own expectations on these athletes and when they don't meet those expectations, they end up labeling them as failures, immature, douche, etc.

I lied to campus police in my late twenties about being on the field. I was busted outside the stadium short of breath and told them I was running sprints...in jeans

I'd just like to point out, he was answering most questions and then asked "Did you have any alcohol while there?"

His immediate response, "I'm not going to comment any further on it."

So, he drank and had a hangover. Maybe boned a fat chick.

I see. So you're mostly upset because someone's definition of "punk" doesn't match yours, or heaven forbid someone expresses an opinion that doesn't align with yours.

And yet... isn't that what you said was one of the primary purposes of a message board?
