After backing out of our scheduled 2007 game, they were in no position play hard ball.

That would be a good offer to take to get some real cred. UF is never truly bad or in full reload. Pull off a win, or take them to the wire, and UCF comes out smelling good. I think UCF would make a pretty darn good game of it win or lose.

UCF overplayed their hand when there was nothing to lose by taking the deal that was offered.

UF would win 10 of 11 against UCF. They might be able to compete for a half but they don't have the horses or specialized talent of a significant SEC program playing for more than a meaningless bowl.
