So you want Dooley gone, too? Welcome aboard.

I'm trying to convert him to a Grudenite.

He was briefly on my ignore list b/c of his initial comment, then I gave him a second chance..Now I'm trying to make him join our side.:wink2:

Understand. I would be severely disappointed if the Browns spend the money to hire a coach and we get the blue light special.

The Haslams have not donated a billion dollars to UT, business has to survive and thrive or there could be no more donations from the Haslams for awhile. If you were in their shoes you as well would do what you thought was best for your business to survive and not be concerned with your ties to the university.

That's funny right there. If gruden(not likely) is ever hired as head coach at Tennessee (again, not likely), I'll support the HC. As I support our current head coach. Just hope the "Gruden BrotherHood" don't hold their breath to long.

Because you're an expert on oxygen deprived brains?

The first step of the conversion would be a Grudenian, then the final step in the process would be a Grudenite.

Football teams or pro teams in general are not usually business ventures. They are playthings for the owners. They don't usually buy teams with an eye to come out wealthier. There would have been much better ways to invest a billion bucks with an eye to make a profit.

They could have easily donated a half a billion dollars to UT and got a nice tax write off as well, but that didn't happen either. One would have to think that given our current situation of having only 4 million dollars from being in the red, they would have come to the aid of the university instead of blowing it on an NFL franchise as you claim.

Perhaps they are mega-rich because they realize that you don't throw good money after bad a la Dooley.

Perhaps this is where the pressure to begin the process of hiring Gruden comes in.

I think he would keep 1-2 guys on the current staff but no more. I know he knows Sal but I would think he'd bring in his own DC. He'd have all kinds of quality assistants wanting to work under him. No question in my mind.

How many emails have you sent out lately?

When you talked to Jay Gruden , did he say anything about Jon still being interested in the NFL? Or did he just mention Tennessee?
