Why would he? He has it made as a commentator, and he is used to coaching adults with college experience not high school kids still learning the game. Add in the constant BS of recruiting and the time commitment required to be a college HC, plus the dang impatience of fans. Why would he? Whats the plus side for a Pro coach to come to a school that is down and can't seem to get back? We will get back and could probably get a better coach but Gruden... Just don't see it ..sorry.

I disagree. Competitive or not he's got to win football games. JMO

Competing is good in Upward Bound leagues. In the SEC, you have to win.

Competing may give the next coach confidence to pull the trigger and come in. They have egos and have to think if they are the coach they can get us over the hump. We have athletes and the cupboard is not bare.

Watch his video earlier in the thread. He dismissed the thought he would not be interested in college. He even pointed out he coaches the o-line for a high school team. Get on board,

The fastest way back is for CDD to figure it out. This combined with UTs failure rate at hiring coaches leaves me leaning towards hope. The reality is if CDD wins 8 he gets another year..
What your seeing is not excuses, it's the first signs that CDD might actually be able to do this. It's hope. If you can't see there was improvement today then you're either blind or trolling.

Accurate. Before today I was certainly not Dooley's biggest fan, mostly because of the lack luster effort by the team and coaches. Now today's performance injected me with a smidge of hope. I don't like it. It burns.

8-4 (9-4 with bowl) and Dooley has his job next year, period. And honestly I can't say I'll be too upset with 9-4 and likely a low ranking at the end. Hell, we still may end up 9-3 (longshot but not impossible).

Don't be sorry.

To the normal person, his broadcasting gig seems great. Trust me, there's no substitute for being on the sidelines. Competitors crave competition. Gruden revels in being a fierce competitor. It's an empty feeling wanting to be in the thick of it, but being unable to do so. I know this first hand. Plus, Gruden himself said that he wanted to coach again. He even said that college would be something that he would be interested in coaching. Add in that the gets up at 3:30 am daily to go to his office to study film from QBs from all over the nation who seek his advice. Gruden wants to and will coach again. It doesn't have to be in the NFL by his own admission.

"I will coach again....... It just has to be the right situation."

sorry for voicing my opinion and thoughts on this whole matter. Here let me go back 284 pages and watch said video...

That wasn't an attack. He was just pointing you to contradicting evidence. And it was an invitation to join in. It wasn't a smarmy remark.

Hope is messin' with you. The fact remains that for the 3rd straight year we are out of the SEC East race after our second conference game. Will we beat Bama? That is the only game that really matters since we are out of the east race. We should beat MSU every time we play them. If we go 8-4 and lose every significant game on our schedule is that enough to keep him? Do we beat UF and Bama on the road next year with DD?

Don't think for a second I wouldn't love to have him. And I do see your point, maybe it happens. Would love to see this video where he talks about coaching but it is way too late to search through all these posts. I'll look later.

No to all of the above

Doesn't matter who the coach is next year, our team will be significantly better than it is now. Especially since it doesn't look like Bray or Patterson will be leaving any time soon.

I expect to beat Florida and give Bama a run for their money. As far as I'm concerened, any new coach had better beat them next year.

Cool. Perhaps someone that knows where it's at would post a fresh link to it. We Grudenites are all about helping a brother out.

You misunderstood my intention. I wanted you to see his comments and invite you to join the revolution. Many have not seen them and he was clear the right opportunity could be at any level.

Ok so I found the video ,wasn't too far back.
His comments were very interesting and I stand corrected about not coming back to the college level. Now just have to make Tn.the right situation.
And I apologize for being an a**

You are forgiven. There's always a seat at the table for another Grudenite.
