The point is that it's harder to maintain a high winning % in the NFL than it is in college, if you're coaching at a top college program.

It's unreal how many people keep using Gruden's NFL winning % as a reason to question whether or not he could coach in the SEC.

Basically, Gruden has extensive experience teaching grad school, and we want him to consider teaching undergraduate courses. He's qualified.

I really hope the result of a bowl game has no bearing. They need to make a decision by the end of the season. If the decision is to fire, do it as of the end of the regular season; don't just put the search on hold for a month. If the decision is to retain, losing a December bowl game shouldn't change that, IMO, unless it's an embarrassment.

Have you heard anything about the Gary Patterson rumors that OS was talking about. I really hope he's not #1 on the list of possible candidates. :banghead2:

Good morning. I see howloween started early last night with all the freaks coming on. Looks like they had an 'ol fashion bash Gruden fest. All kinds of reasoning offered as tricks/treats. I'm still supporting my team tonight and believe we will get the W. I just know this will be the start of a great year end sweep of all the remaining teams because of CDD's, ahem, coaching ability.

Hey Grudenites, hold the fort down today. Gotta run down to Soddy Daisy for a while. Smokey, try not to nip at these guys heels too much today, they may need a break since (sense, cents, scents...trying to cover all bases) it's game day....LOL

Blackmarket, You made some great points about Dooley's recruiting..I feel the same way you do b/c it's just inexcusable to be letting recruits slip through his fingers like Woulard and Bell(dragging his feet with him)...Got a bad feeling we will miss out on the Berry twins and Todd Kelly,Jr.b/c Dooley is fooling around and not keeping in touch with those guys..In the recruiting world you can't just assume that said recruit is gonna commit to UT just b/c a relative has UT ties..You have to recruit them just like any other player.

I also agree with you that had Gruden been our coach that Henry may have committed to us and our chances of flipping Lawson would be greater..Maybe Sal can flip him anyway since they have a good relationship..Remains to be seen..Who knows maybe Gruden will get the chance to flip him.:)

Whuuu-y thank you good sir...

I have to admit, I check the board almost every morning..and have done so for close to two years. I know like many of VN's finest it's a mind warp to pull for our Vols when there is such a big (rumor) fire burning about changes at the top. I really like the way Dooley reps e orange, I like and respect his heritage and his class in handling the media and himself. I also don't think he's slacking in recruiting, as we're (again rumored) to be in on plenty of wild horses still for this class. I just think he's simply being out classed by the bigger boys with bigger names as far as that battle is concerned.

It's early my thoughts are running together...I've got to get the family ready for Nashville's Octoberfest today..and finish up so I can watch the Big O stomp some cowbell ringing low rate azzz.
