How do you know Gruden does not want the job? He has a lot of ties to the area and Tennessee is still one of the top jobs in the country.

Not challenging you on this at all, but how come this info hasn't leaked out to the public/interwebs outside of the various Vol sites?

No one who talks football seems to know anything about this to report it as a solid rumor.

I just hope all this Gruden talk actually comes to pass, but for now it definitely just comes across as wishful thinking on our parts....just like at Arkansas or Texas.

LittleDTO is wrong. Saban was not hired before Shula was fired. Rich Rodriguez was target #1, was offered a contract, and was going to accept it before backing out. Moore had to redo everything after that. He was lucky because Saban and the GM weren't getting along, and the team was sucking. That is when Saban became interested in Alabama.
