104.5 The Zone in Nashville is talking about the UT job right now. 615-737-1045 for anyone that would like to call and chime in.

Why not? You think Dooley could manage 8 wins with one of those coming against Bama or SCar? I don't see it...again, not impossible just improbable.

With the kind of luck/karma that Dooley has had, I could see that boomeranging back on us fans :)

Any word on the "meeting" that held yesterday at 6? I didn't see anything on TOS8.

The only way to get 8 now is with a win over one of those. Even then he would have to avoid a collapse against everyone else on the schedule. Unless the defense makes sudden drastic improvement I just don't see it.

 I know you....

Very true though. Like BC said, Bama is going to steal our soul and SCar is going to bury the body.

Things Dooley has done that I like...

He has restored discipline.

He has restocked the cupboard with pretty good talent

He's put in the VFL program which I think is great and needs to stay here regardless of the coach.

He had some wonderful input in the contruction and design of the new training facility.

Hiring Jay Graham as our RB coach.

Hiring Sam Pittman as our OL coach.

Hiring Ron McKeefry as strength coach.

However it's very apparent that Dooley is a transition guy. He's served as a steward of the program but now it's time to go get us a winner.

Agree with the bold pretty solidly, especially the VFL program and Graham.

He has brought in descent talent overall with a few really good players, but nowhere near what we need. Still, we are better off in the talent department than when he arrived.

The discipline issue may be better in terms of arrests, but player discipline as it relates to strictly the team on and somewhat off the field is woefully lacking, imo.

He spent too much time focusing on being an architect instead of coaching for me, but that's just my personal opinion. Overall, I agree with you. I'll give credit where I think it's due.

Your last statements are rock solid.

ut students---not happy with dooley!

I always try to remember that CDD was the only coach that would take on our rebuilding task and he's done it with Honor and Dignity and has had lots less kids in trouble with the police.

I respect him for taking on such a monumental task in the SEC when he knew the cards were stacked against him.

For what he's done with recruiting and trying his best to turn things around we should all respect him and simply say..Thank you coach for your best efforts.

With our fanbase I almost feel sorry for whoever our next HC will be because the expectations will be sky high and if he doesn't turn things around in a year or 2 then people will start screaming for his head too and another Gruden type thread will start all over again.

At least the next HC will have a player roster that's lots better than what CDD had when he came to Tennessee.

VFL...GBO!!!

I actually agree with everything you said here about Dooley.
However, we still need a coaching change.
Dooley has done the job of rebuilding our roster to a full complement of players. We need to pay him the buy out he negotiated and move on.

Of course I forgot about a bowl win...unless we are talking about 8 in regular season only.

Yes, I think BC is correct on that as well. Of course someone may find some pixie dust over there and make the unimaginable happen; I will not hold back any breath, however.
