I don't think we are convinced that Gruden is our next coach. I think a lot of us just enjoy watching some of you guys get your panties in a wad. The only people around here that are convinced of anything are the ones that blindly believe that Dooley has what it takes to be a winner. Considering he has done absolutely nothing to earn this faith, makes his followers look sad.
I've heard back from 2 of my guys. One hasn't heard anything but said he wouldnt be surprised if the "money" folks haven't reached out to potential other coaches.
The other said that he knew for a fact that some boosters have made contact with possible replacements. I couldnt get a name or names out of him though.
Guys, I'm fascinated by this conversation but I think we've all seen the body of work and can't we all agree that Dooley's ceiling as a coach is not that high--so therefore---whether or not he wins these next few games or not he's not "the guy" for this program? I think Hart waits until the end of season and then makes a change.
I absolutely love this thread. Been keeping up with it the past few days, and its kept me entertained at work. I would love to see Gruden roaming the sidelines at Neyland and watching the Jon Gruden Show on Sundays. I like Dooley as a person, but I feel like he just can't get it done.
Well I guess I'm a negavol now. And you know what? I really don't care.
If being a "NegaVol" is code for thinking Dooley is in so far over his head he would have to take off his cap to go to the bathroom, then its a badge I wear with pride!
I will never ever root for my Vols to lose, but still think we win 6 at best this year and Dooley hits the road. At least I hope so, unless they want to turn about 1/3 of Neyland into campus housing.
These student athletes deserve better, THEY KNOW IT, and therein lies our biggest problem at the current time.
