I'd like to know why he is transferring as well. Maybe he just wants to wear a different color jersey, but I'd at least like to know. If it is something more sinister, than maybe we do not need him.

I like his numbers but you have to remember these were Big 12 defenses he was playing against. The SEC is a little different caliber on D.

Hmmm...that's funny...you do know that the Big 8's final year was 1995, right? Big 12 officially began in 1996. Welker played at TTU from 2000 till 2004.

Arguing yes or no on whether that conference playes D is one thing, but at the end of the day the kid has caught that many passes for that many yards and so has more experience catching the ball and running routes than most, if not all of our WRs... heck we'd take even half of his production and it would be a win....

So here is the story why he left.. (we don't want him)

1st spring depth chart comes out and he is 2nd team.. throws a fit and tells team he is transferring.. kid has no dog in him.. has never had to really compete for anything.. looks good on the field but from the convo I just had I don't think we want him.. Tech says we don't want him..


Supposedly the coaches kept pushing him to work harder and he folded.. couldn't hack it...

So please explain what happens or doesnt happen in the NFL has do to do with college?

Would it matter if this guy was a bust in the NFL yet was a very good player for us? If so, how?
