Since Cj is in the association I'm gonna have to say you swung at a grounder. And yes you missed.

Ummm...no. Do you know what "best since" means? It only means that he is not as good as CJ but better than all the rest in between. CJ could be 100x better and the comment's structure wouldn't change. That's why it wasn't saying much...our PG play has sucked since CJ.

Does nobody like Golden, I thought he started to look better at the end of the year?

Trying to give him a pass for his freshman year. Many highly ranked freshmen struggle, and UT had all the other stuff to go with it. - Needs a left hand. Needs to finish and needs to change his release, imo. I think he sees the floor well in transition and his vision seems to be pretty good in the half court O, when he wasn't robotic.

+1. I think his footwork is a little on the slow side for a PG as well.

And when he finds his outside shot that he had in high school, his game will open up even more. Blame it on being a freshman. He can shoot and hopefully he will regain his touch next year.

Yes. I like Golden. After the Arkansas game I wrote: "Just wanted to say that Golden, despite shooting horrifically again, played well. He was disruptive on defense, he got the ball up the floor and kept the offense flowing. Did a quick +/- and got: Golden +15, Goins -7."

After the Florida game I wrote: "...plus/minus in the Florida game was much like the Arkansas game: Goins -15, Golden +6 in almost identical minutes. The nice comeback in the first half was with Golden in the game..."

I've also pointed out several times that his assist to turnover was 2.0 (which is excellent) while Goins' was more like 1.6 (which isn't).

His shooting was atrocious, but his actual shot doesn't look so bad. I think his shooting percentage improves substantially next year by not playing for Pearl.

Golden has some potential but I think he will be more effective if he plays off the ball some. Jones would allow him to do that.

Try again. Best point guard since CJ=better than all the point guard's since CJ. Therefore, CJ isn't included in the comparison. So basically, saying Jones would be the best point guard since Watson is saying he's better than Ramar Smith, Bobby Maze, Melvin Goins, and everyone else who has butchered the position since Watson left. In other words, it's not saying much.

Okay! I get cha now. You're comparing Jones to the other PG's since CJ Watson departed. That definitely isn't saying much even though Ramar Smith had some promise & upside but he wasted his career. Maze probably has been the best since Watson but he was only here for 2 seasons.

Woolridge sat out this year due to an injury. Plus with our potential 7 man roster and lack of big men, he most definitely will see a lot of playing time. As for Scotty, I agree with you on the fact that his mental game conflicts with his physical game; however, I also believe he wants to change that. The difference between someone your describing and what I believe Scotty reflects is a player who desires to grow. If you don't have the drive to reach your potential, you won't. I guess we'll see this year (if he stays) what Hopson is really made of.

I honestly have no idea how you could actually watch Woolridge play and think he will contribute anything significant. He got extra hype coming out of high school because of his dad. Now that he is on the floor with SEC caliber players in practice he looks like a walk-on out there. He is just not good. Bottom line. Wish it wasnt true because we need him to be good.
