If you want to give me UT and 59.5 points, I can probably have $10K together by end of business today.

Interested?

Is that you Mitt? Need to re-read my post. Don't get me wrong there cowboy, I'm all in for the Big Orange. But it's going to take 2 more years to be able to compete with the more talented teams. I feel Oregon will blow us off the field, there's nothing wrong in thinking that at this point. Taking a bet at 10K is just stupid in this economy. Just watch the game & get back to me on it afterwards & if you want to flame me then that will be just fine & dandy. BTW, I haven't said anything about Florida, Georgia, Alabama yet either but they will be bad news to our team also.

Wouldn't it be a penalty if we sprinted to the other side of the field? Taunting or some such nonsense....maybe we should sprint to the other END of the field?

CBJ used this same thing at UC and honestly I think it helped out a lot. The players and fans all celebrated 3rd down stops as they should be celebrated. Should be exciting to see in Neyland this year

Will people remember this come gametime? How is this information going to get out to the public and casual fans who go monthly and aren't involved with football at all?

It will be on the 6:00 news. Eric Ainge will advertise it. The sports animal will tell all 3 people that listen to them, and they will tell others. And then on game day, I will scream it at the top of my lungs, and the Jumbotron operator will hear me, and he will do a close up of me with the veins sticking out of the side of my neck while I scream and IT WILL BE DONE!

I like it.

I'm confident that it will be much better received than last year's defense which eventually became known as the "finger up" defense.

You know, this explains a lot. I kept thinking, "What's with the we're #1 stuff when they just converted a 3rd and 21?"

I like that CBJ is trying to get the crowd involved during the game with the fist up approach. But I feel that holding your fist in the air is lame. Why can't we do something like LSU or Notre Dame when they force a team to a 4th down. Everyone holding their fist up in the air will remind me of the guy from the 1968 Olympic Games who held his fist up after receiving his medal. Just a thought.

I lived in Nashville from '79 to '90 and I remember one year Vandy got a couple of the radio stations to play this goofy ass song, "Show Your Gold". The plan was that every time they got a first down, the fans were to all stand and sing the "Show Your Gold" song. Best I remember, it didn't work. It may have been one of the most ridiculous promotions of all time.

I can understand why it didn't catch on.

You have to sing a song at least a few times before you get the hang if it. How any first downs could they have possibly gotten?

Will this years defense be called the Orange Crush?
Or perhaps the Orange Mush...the former I hope!

Most sport venues do things to entertain fans, aside from the particular game being played. What's wrong with that? People don't like to have fun? It's not golf, it's football.

Personally, the more excitement the players, cheerleaders, band, coaches, and fans create, the more I like it. But that's just me.

Golf is fun.

And even Bubba asked the fans to scream while he teed off at the Rider Cup. lol
