no they dont.....they have 11 guys under contract and thats not even counting some that may not be under contract when they break camp. Jordan Mcrae will be with the Sixers this yr if he has a decent camp.

Philadelphia 76ers 2015 Team Roster - ESPN

You're wrong bud! Take a look at the roster. I counted 14 players under contract for 2014. With 3 drafted rookies not inked yet!

not all of those are guaranteed and likely wont be with the team

But, those players inked whether guaranteed or not have a leg up on McRae for 2 reasons. One is that he is a rookie & #2 they are already inked no matter what. Wonder what the hold up is on McRae getting signed? Is it his agent wanting more money or the 76ers not wanting to ink/pay him?

Elliot Perry does not have a leg up on anyone....... none of the Sixers rookies are signed yet at least i dont think so.....He will be on the team.....the organization likes him alot.

I hope you're right! If the 76ers don't want him could they pleas send him to my Celtics? LOL! Celtics are guard heavy so we can't use him but thought I'd ask them anyway! Ha!

Basically the same thing as drafting a foreign player, and allowing them to stay overseas for a couple years.

Disappointing after the summer league he had. Wish him the best. Hope to see him in the league soon

The way the sixers news is reading that they have an agreement with the Australian team for him to go there for a yr....get stronger and then play for the sixers next yr. Sixers coach Brett Brown use to coach in Australia so he has a lot of connections there.

"Get stronger" Mcrae's been getting that since he got at Tennessee, what makes them think he can suddenly get stronger overseas?

They will set up a program that will work on what they feel he needs to do just like with Nerlens... He gained 20 pounds plus but still has a ways to go to. Remember CDT made it sound like the previous staff didn't work as hard on getting the players stronger. Another plus is that he will be starting there and playing more minutes.

I saw a league game last year in Auckland. It is actually a pretty cool atmosphere. I hope he approached this as an opportunity and doesn't morn too long that he didn't get the guaranteed contract I would think he expected.

Here's a small tidbit:

During the NBA Summer League with the Philadelphia 76ers, the No. 58 overall pick in the 2014 draft showed his ability to light up a scoring sheet. Many 76ers fans were looking forward to seeing McRae in Philadelphia this season, but were disappointed when he signed a deal with an Australian club in the NBL. While there is still a chance that McRae can come to the 76ers, heÂ’s currently in Australia, where the season is getting started.

According to Roy Ward of the Sydney Morning Herald, McRae was dropping buckets again for his new squad in Australia. At a pre-season tournament in Brisbane, the former Tennessee guard dropped 28 points in two consecutive games. McRae’s club — Melbourne United — went 1-1 in the two game tournament.

Some people develop later than others. I am one of those body types. I graduated HS at 6' 2" 155 lbs, and was no heavier than 165 by age 22, despite trying (eating, weights)...at some point (24 or 25) my body started to pack on weight and I was suddenly up to 185 lbs in a few months without trying....when I started hitting the gym again, I got up to 200+ fast.

So, it can happen.

is pounds gained necessarily muscle? Your metabolism starts to decline during your mid 20s, so thats why you hear of the "freshmen 15" I don't doubt there's still room for McRae to gain muscle, but he's nearly reached his body type peak. IMO.

It doesn't have to be solid muscle for it to make him a better/more physical basketball player.

He got critiqued for being a weaker SG who "would need to add muscle to handle the added physicality of the NBA". Wouldn't adding 15-20 lbs of fat (as you were inclining) slow him down a tad?

Some of the weight would likely be fat, but some would be muscle. Even if he put on 20 lbs of pure muscle, it'd probably slow him down a bit, but it's worth the tradeoff if it means he can avoid getting pushed around by bigger wings.

It's my opinion that one of the reasons high metabolism guys have trouble putting on muscle is that their body processes calories so fast, and there isn't enough left over to put on muscle mass....when you get older and your metabolism slows down, it's easier to get enough inputs to put on quality mass.

I agree with you. But I also think lateral foot speed is an issue for JMac and the added lbs sure wouldn't help with that.

You can get away with being slim, Reggie, and Rip come to mind. Jordy needs to work on ball handling, D, and what you said. People hated when I said he'd be overseas, but he has work to do. Hopefully he puts in the time and fix what he needs too. The problem might be overseas he can take guys semi regularly off the bounce. Often guys use their strength to be really good over there and don't develop what they need to get in the league. Which I'm not knocking, I'd gladly go overseas and get paid to do what I love.
