Josh Heupel = Gus Malzahn 2.0

See, you don't know squat. All the Oline is gone. LMAO. Why you people get on here and jaw when you don't know zilch is beyond me. Really.
Well, that's not entirely true. While it's not something I expect, only Crawford and Lane are out of eligibility. We could get a lineman or two to hang around if their prospects for the NFL aren't so great. While they haven't been all world, they do know the system so it would be easier on the offense if they returned vs trying to roll with linemen who aren't physically ready or transfers who would have to learn the system quickly.

Heupel can only hope to be CGM. As others have said, Regardless how flukey/lucky it was, Gus has an SEC title and BCSNCG appearance.

As long as you are in the Hunt, you have a good coach. All Tennessee Coaches are going to keep TN relevant and respected not so much in the past.

You realize that last year's offense was one of the most prolific offenses in NCAA history don't you? We have Nico and some stud receivers coming in. Sometimes it's important to engage your brain before posting.

Heupel relies on a prolific offense to win games.

Calling Schrader a D2 back at this point is like calling Hooker a old transfer washup after the Bama game.
Calling him a superstar that should be able to get 200+ rushing and 100+ receiving on us would also be the equivalent in the opposite direction. Kid is good, but not Kamara/McCaffrey good

Tennessee had a lot of problems to fix.

What's more, I feel sorry for you if you don't realize that and you need help.

He hasn't tried to fool us like you would want to think. You have been fooled by your thinking.

Do you chase shinny objects often?

Rome was not built in a day and given the mess he stepped into I give him credit for not having a losing season since his arrival.

Don't feed the troll?+?
He undoubtedly inherited a mess. And through 2.5 years he's exceeded expectations. I like him. I'm hoping for the best. He's a million times better than the clowns who came before him. All true. BUT I'm simply pointing out that THE WAY we lost yesterday is alarming. It mirrored the loss to a terrible FL team, and the SC loss last year. Is it becoming a pattern? GA beat us last year, but it wasn't an alarming performance. They were better and beat us, but we weren't embarrassed. Am I saying he and Malzahn are clones? No. But their record through 3 years is undeniably similar, and I don't want what happened to Gus happen to us.

Yeah, he is one of the only ones to come to mind in the last 20-30 years.
Ohio State
Alabama
Clemson

All have had championship eras, then a down era, then rebuilt to be as good as before. Maybe even better.

I would say USC and Tennessee might be on their way to doing the same ....

Right now it boils down to two things Depth and Experience. Not much more.
The system is good offensively with the right personnel.
Defensively, we have the best DL coach in the nation, LB corps was expected to be head hunters (injuries) and the DB are young and cannot man up.
It takes time when we have been in the hole that we have been in for this long.
The Culture is/has changed but it takes time because of Turnover.
We have had our share of injuries this year.
The OL has looked good at times but not of late.
Playing in the SEC is a grind and it wears on you during the season. Afterall you are playing the elite of the elite week in and week out on a SEC schedule.
Next year's schedule does not look any better and we have had our share of poor officiating.
Somebody in the SEC HQs does not care for us and are homers for AL & GA.

I was hesitant to include Bama/OSU because their down period really wasnt near as bad as ours.

The Mistake was made when McCullough intercepted and Tenn did NOT go for the Big pass play, You ALWAYS do that when your opponent is shocked by a TO. NO POINTS! Then, to start the second half, Joe is HOT 11-12 and we Run it, Run It, then HAVE to throw on 3rd and long. JOE was playing great. COACHING SUCKED!!
I agree with that but Joe does not have any consistency
