Josh Heupel UTSA post game

The defense has been solid aside from a few drives in the swamp & their disappearance in the 3rd quarter today.

The OL might look a lot better if Milton didn't hold the ball for 3-4 seconds
FYP!

Side note though, I think there were only a couple plays that he held the ball a little longer than necessary, I don’t think on average he’s holding it any longer than Hooker did last year.

Huh? You don't think he lives in reality everyday. Like if I turn this around I'm set. If I lose for 2 years straight I'm set. I think he thinks he's good my friend.

Yea I agree he is good financially, but I also think he wants to win, be loved by the fans, and admired. He wants to beat Alabama and get recognition. Doesn’t matter how much $$ coaches make they want more $$. They are naturally competitive.

This all day. Joe missed some throws, but - good grief - that OL would make Peyton look like a poor QB.

#6 needs to get more snaps, he’s our most explosive player on offense. Dude has a nose for the end zone, my only gripe with Coach Heupel is that #6 sat the bench the entire UF game.
He only had three carries against AP.
He wasn't available for the UF game, but heard he was dinged up and also heard it was discipline.
I mean, he had 3 TDs against UVA, 3 carries the next week, so something happened.
Clearly (today), coach will use him if he's available.

I honestly thought the TDs against UVA were ‘right place right time’; that is, any of the backs would’ve scored at that time.

Today showed me that wasn’t a fluke.

They could be better. Still to much pressure in the interior and they're not getting a ton of push on short yardage
You ae being too kind.

This OL is fair to poor at pass protection, but even worse on run blocking.

But that's far from all the issues.

The secondary defense is probably the worse in the SEC. Charlotte had better first half defense against Florida than our team.

Milton is one of the worse QBs in the SEC. For every good throw he makes, there are two bad throws. On some of the bad throws tonight, he had PLENTY of time!!

Another issue seems to be the WRs. Seems strange since several were better last year. Perhaps it is the QB and timing of the routes?

Offense has had so many three and out series this year which puts a LOT of pressure on the defense. There are some disadvantages to this "fast" offense when it's not clicking.

Currently, our offense just seems so predictable. Perhaps Hooker and Hyatt just made a HUGE difference. I know the OL was also better last year...

LOL on "No one in the SEC looks good" because I think most teams, in most conferences would disagree with you because there are currently 6 SEC teams in the top 25.

PAC-12 has 8 right now and most of those teams look average at best. This is without a doubt the weakest the SEC has looked in a long time. Worst I’ve seen Alabama look in a decade. Florida sucks. Texas A&M is mediocre. Auburn sucks. Vandy is trash. Kentucky is okay. Mizzou is okay. I could go down the list but the conference is a whole bunch of mid this year. If we get out of our own way there are a lot of winnable games.

Florida looked bad, gas offense looks not great, lsu barely beat arky at home who lost to byu last week, Bama looks lost on offense, ole miss looks like ole miss (can beat anyone not good). I didn't address other teams bc you wanted to keep it ranked. But no one looks dominant. No one looks good. Too bad we couldn't have had last year this year.

Suck it boss. We fit in there with all those teams.

Agree! Beyond the national sports media hyping up the big 10 as usual, the top 25 doesn’t seem to have an “unbeatable “ team this year so far. Lots of unexpected close games and surprise struggles. I guess UGA, FSU, Texas, USC seem pretty strong so far?

So 8 tPac12 eams in top 25 is good, but 6 SEC is weak?

Currently Champion is a back to back Champion, is from SEC and .... won the Championship by a mere 58 points.

I don't know what else you could ask for. I suppose could ask that SEC have 8 in the top 25, plus UGA's record but if that's the line between weak, you might have the most negative outlook there because I believe you stand alone on saying the SEC is weak in any capacity. I'm trying to wrap my head around why you would think that way and I can't come up with a reason.

I think the SEC is in a sweet spot right now and that if the SEC would be accepting an additional team, there would be at least 50 schools that would jump at the chance play in our conference this year or next year or last year or in 2025 because week to week the SEC is playing a top 25 team AND we have a current back to back national champion in our midst AND is the pre-season favorite to win a 3rd

Ohio State seems really, REALLY impressive right now. UGA doesn't look that impressive right now, but they have won 20 or 21 games in a row.

I wouldn’t say Kentucky is “okay,” even though they are undefeated they struggled with Vandy and Eastern Kentucky and have the worst sos in the nation

Different topic, but I'd be interested in what you think of Duke and Syracuse playing as well as they are. I never thought of either of them as good at football, yet.... here they are. Are they just lucky or the first schools to max out or leverage The Portal?

Anyway, I'm interested in your thoughts.

Well, we can't have everything all the time. I thought it was kind of cool to be ranked #1 last year. Maybe it was a set up because they took it away from UGA and then the Vols played UGA, but still.

you guys MUST UNDERSTAND last year that Darnell Wright (1st round draft pick) took COMPLETE care of the right side of the line which allowed the other 4 to block 3 which gave Hooker ALOT of time. Then you have Hyatt on the outside running a 4.2 or 3 and they had to put a Safety over the top so now most of the season we had the advantage on offense. SCHEME WISE !!J
